Terri Clark performance will go on, despite tribe's issues with the venue

Country singer Terri Clark will hit the stage, in Akwesasne, Friday evening, even if the St. Regis Mohawk tribe has washed its hands of the show.

Terri Clark, a big name in country music! but not one advertisement in the malone telerag, not one poster in any area store or public bulletin board. Now the STRMT can get Terri Clark and all we can get for the Fr. Co. Fair is an american idol loser and a rocker (Eddie Money) who hasn't had a record in over twenty years? Waz up with this?

Well she is mighty cute thats for sure and another note thats the problem the Malone Telegram should be just closed it's not worth reading anymore to begin with. but you have to remember the Fair makes way less money than the Casino's do so they can afford some decent talent when the people that run the fair try to save money to line there pockets getting crap. Shoot they don't even have the HellDrivers anymore and i loved watching them. The don;t ave long enough Tractor pulls, demolition derby's, and harness racing. what they need to do is bulk up the fair track and get dirt track motorcycle racing to come in during the non-fair season May to Sept and take off for fair week. But what needs to happen is the fair board needs to be replaced with new blood who had the fair interest at heart not there bank accounts.

Mr. Carley......I was the founder and owner of the "Hollywood Stunt World Show" with Jack Kochman and allow me to inform you, there are no longer "Helldriver" Shows out there, due to the very high cost to travel! Also the fact that, those types shows, can no longer get Automobile Sponsorships! Without a major sponser you just can no longer make the $$$$$$$. Also realize that, many County Fairs are not running any longer.....due to cost!!

ohh man thats such a bummer they are sorely missed and fun as heck to watch but living here in florida for the past 10 years i have only been to 1 fair 3 years ago so im out of touch with the area except family still living there

Billy K, I appreciate you prespective, I never really gave much thought to cost. You just don't realize how much of your life is effected by the rizing cost of Oil, food, heat, yes but the trickle down effect touches everything we took for granted. Thanks!

Billy that site is cool i like it. As for the others my family still lives in malone and i hear stuff from my parents all the time so i stay somewhat informed if you don;t like what i have to say so be it but thats what forums are for to have people say what they hear and see and thats what i do. All it does is make us talk about things more and see what we can try to do about fixing them you all live there and you have no say when it comes to change things because you already know the ones running the town they will do what they want you see it all time up there and you have the right to change stuff but you all just talk about it instead of do something.

Much as I would love to comment on this (and there's plenty that could be said), this thread is discussing Terri Clark. I apologize for the digression, but stand by my opinion of the above writer's proumulagation of misinformation.

You don't live here and haven't for many, many years, so how do you know that I, or any other resident, have no say; that the ones running the town will do what they want; and that we're just talking about it? You say that forums are good for talking about things, then condemn those of us who live heree for talking about it. so is talking good or not? and talking helps us see what "we" can do about fixing things. You're 1500 miles away-what do you mean by we? You have the right to critize and comment. You also have the responsibility to have accurate facts.

I agree that Mr Carley may have some facts wrong, but even though he is in Fl. he's right about the people who run the politics and therefore the village and town. If you would like proof of that try running for local office and not be in the good graces of the respective political party, then come back here and tell me Mr Carley is wrong.

Try being running for office anywhere and not being in the good graces of a political party. this is not a reality limited to malone. it's the American two party system at work. democrats want good "democrats" to run for office, republicans want good "republicans".

Lives in Malone, exactly my point. Good quality people are being passed over because, OH MY GOD you may think that a Democrat has a good idea or that a Republican was right on an issue. What you state is the status quo. Third party canidates are slowly starting to emerge all over the country, Jessie Ventura in Min. Joe Liberman in Conn. Benrie Sanders in VT, (well maybe thats not the best example) The point is that we can't change the status quo as long as the two parties control who gets on the ballot

We've strayed far from Terri Clark, but I agree with your last post completely! I was thinking of Joe Lieberman as I typed my last post. My problem was that mr. Carley implies that the problem is limited to malone only ("you see it all the time up there") and that we, the residents are a bunch of lemmings who "just talk about it instead of do something." As you say, politically malone is no worse (and no better) than almost all the rest of the US.

I'm wondering why you turn every topic into a chance to knock the Telegram...it sounds like you have a personal issue. The point that was being made was that the tribe didn't publicize their event very well...
