well at least the park doidn't put innocent people in harms way, but the busses should drop off the city kids a mile away and when they get there winded, make them show ID and run them thru a metal detector then photograph all the ones with weapons, show them online and ban them for life from the park..
Better yet, just take them down to the lagoon and fit them with concrete boots and toss um in!!
Do you really believe that kids that skip school to play basketball all day long, would get winded after walking for a mile? Maybe you lose your breath after a half mile trot, but I know for a fact that people who actually play any type of sport, or even figh on a daily basis would get winded after walking for a mile or even three.

People act as if only city kids ride the rts buses.
I know that many use the rts buses that don't live in the city. rts buses go to every town outside of the city, and no matter what time it is and what direction they are traveling, people are always on those buses.

I read that Officers reported that there were rumors that there was going to be a "huge" fight at Seabreeze. The officers also stated words to the effect that "some" of the kids come in on RTS buses, unsupervised and that the kids use Seabreeze as a place to settle their differences. I think that it was a wise choice for Seabreeze to close down. That's just my opinion.

I believe the definition of the word rumor is: a story or information that lacks certainty or evidence.

They should have stayed open, and instead have any RTS bus going to Seabreeze be redirected to the police station, so the police can arrest them all for fighting before they fought.

Let's place these miscreants into concentration camps, and let them go at it. The ones who survive can go to Afghanistan since they have so much anger and hatred for their fellow man. If they survive that , send them to Iran to spy on them. Put them to good use.

That is a good idea, except, the police can't arrest someone before they commit a crime; besides, the cops stated "some' come in on RTS buses. So, apparently, some are driven, and if any live nearby they are probably walking.

They want to fight; Now, there's a place to fight! Your comment made me think of Boot Camp for kids that keep getting into trouble. I remember watching shows on TV a long time ago about kids being sent to Boot Camp. Also, I remember shows where the troubled kids spend time in a prison and speak to prisoners to get an idea of what it's like to be in prison. The prisoners would talk to the kids and tell them that if they didn't change this is where the kid would end up. I remember that the prisoner would treat the kid just like he/she would treat a prisoner. It worked for some kids and not for others. Do you know and remember what I'm talking about? I wonder why we don't have those programs here.

Yes I recognize what you are referring to. It was the "scared straight program". The problem isn't the lack of programs, it's the new world order culture of ours. That if someone looks at you funny, you must kill them. Or that everyone must sell drugs because it is the thing to do. Our culture is messed up, and Rap music is the start of the problem.

Yes, Dewey, that was it and there were others. If our culture is that messed up and the kids and even the adults are thinking like that, then, what the heck are we supposed to do? How are we supposed to get along with each other? I like some Rap music. Even though Rap started it, which I didn't even really know, you're telling me that some kids and adults are really taking it seriously and that it's music, just music--entertainment, to listen to, and dance to. We need help and we can't get it, can we? Dewey, it seems like it's in the hands of the very people who are causing the problem. OMG!

I think the RPD should arrest any new-born who is born into a household with no car, as there is no doubt that when they will grow up they will take a RTS bus somewhere to commit some type of crime.
That is just what city bus riders do.

There must be something to this 'rumor', or else they wouldn't have closed on their busiest day. Unless they're as stupid as people that go to an amusement park to fight.

Let them all fight as much as they want,we might get rid of a few of the lowlifes that live off the system. The ones that are paid for by the taxpayers from the time they are born until the time they die,the ones that makes babies one after another but won't work to support their children, the ones that can but won't work, the ones that think everyone owes them anything they want.So if they want to fight or kill each other all I can say is go for it! BTY: I don't care where they live or what color they are!!!!

It's the City Kids that have no moral fiber in them at all. Eye for an eye tooth for a tooth kinda thing. These kids that are up to the trouble have Mommies and Daddies that could care less about Jr. Look at what the bused in City School Students have done to the Charlotte area around the High School. It's been turned into Dewey Avenue. What ones was nice is now destroyed. These are the same kids with the same attitudes that have destroyed Irondequoit Mall, Seabreeze and the City School District. No one steps up and demands and end. No one steps up and says why do the rest of us have to put up with this crap. Lets cut down on the Dole in the Rochester Area and those that are the worst of the group will move away. It's just taht simple. Cut the Welfare?Housing allowances in Monroe County and the trouble will follow the free money wherever it leads. With that crime will lessen all over Rochester

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all start from scratch? Like if you burn a batch of cookies, you throw them out and make a new batch. That would be great. But it doesn't work like that, so we must continue to PRAY. That is all that we can do. Preach and pray. My wife and I have our children on a short leash, and that is all that we can control. Our own little world. I try talking to young men, but to no avail. Yes, I do believe whole- heartedly that the "evil music" has a firm grip on these young people. The music is raising them instead of their parents.

Today, while listening to WDKX, I was listening to some responders of the recent violence within our community. Alot of what i was hearing was that, there is a lack of parenting, grandparenting and community intervention. All true, IMO. I agree that there are a bunch of people whom shoulod have been sterile at there time of conception. While we cannot change the past, we can only hope for a brighter future.

Good luck to you Sonya, for it is going to be a discusting summer.

I got a reply but I don't know who it was from. So I will answer to the most recent comments.

Your are correct about one of the jobs of cops; however, in this case no one was fighting so cops couldn't make any arrests. I may be wrong, but I think cops have computers in their patrol cars now, so there are no forms to fill out.

We have to cut down on all of the "entitlement"program s,all they do is promote more trouble. Why didn't anyone that read the D&C 2-3 weeks ago about the new houses that is being built for section 8 housing that costs 300k each,my god,my house that I worked and pay for only cost 180k.Something is very wrong with our system.I worked all of my life and I am paying for people that never worked a day in their lifes, makes me sick.I quess that we all must be P/C or we might hurt someones feelings.
