Monroe County Humane Soceity would be a great place for you to get a kitten and information on raising it.

Have you and your family had pets before? Make sure you and your family are ready for the responsibility of a pet.
If so, then you will have years of enjoyment from your new family member.

Best of Luck.

spay and neuter. Then no more kittens free to good home that in turn create more free kittens that no one wants!

i agree outdoor cats are a problem for neighbors but if we can just convince people to spay neuter first at least we wont have to watch those outside cats multiply like rodents.

Sick to death of people telling me to spay and neuter. We live in a rural area and have a barn. Cats show up pregnant (probably have been dumped, just like dogs are) and I end up with kittens. Humane Society won't take them. It costs hundreds to get them fixed and another shows up and it all starts again. Sick of people acting so self righteous about this.

There are plenty of Chinese restaurants around that will gladly accept any surplus kittens or adult cats for that matter. They actually prefer them unfixed. I have heard that some of folks have actually started kitty ranches where they breed and raise cats of all shapes and sizes. Not sure what their fascination is with all of these cats.

the state of illinois offers a program for cats just like that. 15 dollars (not hundreds) gets five a year spayed or neuteredat the vet of your choice. It also covers raboes vaccinations Look it up. Hope this helps.

There are many low cost spay/neuter options out there. Opspot is one and Carol HOuse just openned a cheap clinic. The pound takes unwanted cats.

also reasonable options. I think people just assume that there is no help out there.
