A brown/black/white colored female dog showed up at my house last night and I am trying to find the owners. She appears to be some sort of terrier mix..maybe terrier and german shepard and is wearing a John Deere collar with no tags. I am trying to find the owner of this dog ASAP as I am leaving for vacation on Monday and do not really want to hand the dog over to animal control. This dog was found Wednesday night off of 156 towards Hecker. If you have any information about the owners please respond to this discussion and I will tell you how you can contact me. Thanks!

Have you tried going door to door-maybe someone will recognize the dog. You could also take it to a vet to see if it has been microchipped. Also see if the police knows anything-maybe someone reported the dog missing. Good luck!

I saw a poster for a missing dog at Wayne's One Stop last night. You might call Waynes to get the phone number.

Thanks, yeah I called animal control and let them know in case someone calls up there. Went to the vet as well and no microchip and hung up some posters. I will stop by Wayne's later and check out the poster..I have done everything possible..so hopefully it pays off!

Animal control will kill it in a matter of days!!! I think those people down there actually get off on killing those poor animals! I HATE that place. Please call the Monroe County Humane Society asap. It's your best bet & they will not kill the dog. It's SO great that you are doing all this. I hope you find the owners & I hope they appreciate what you've done! You're doing a very good thing. Thanks!

Luckily, some of my neighbors have decided to take in the dog and they plan on keeping her if the owners cannot be found. I am pretty sure that the dog was dumped out here, so I am glad she will get a good home if this is the case. As for the whole animal control, the vet told me that animal control holds the dog for 10 days before euthanization and the humane society will take in adoptable dogs from animal control when they have room. But, that the humane society does not take dogs from private parties and only adopt through animal control.
