Please quit pulling out onto the highway in front of us. Thanks, the rest of the world.

The new intersection & signal will help this, but everybody needs to be careful the way it is now.

Hey rest of world, you should be doing the speed limit, not 75/80 miles per hour. Also you could be curteous and not speed up when we pull out . I guess that's to teach us a lesson.

Go ahead and keep risking your life. My truck needs a new paint job so I hope you have good insurance.

Please quit being so daring. I don't care if you feel entitled, it's unsafe to enter the highway with oncoming traffic. Stop it. Better to be right and alive than right and dead.

the whole world isn't flying, and they're not gunning it to speed up after you pull out, they're moving at highway speed, your poor perception from lack of awareness makes it look like they're standing still from a distance while they're really hurtling at you around 60mph, when they seem to fly up on your ass its because you just casually, rudely, and illegally pulled out onto a busy highway like you were pulling into a bumpy alley at your leisure. Wait, when its possible, for an opening, and when waiting is truly not feasible pull out and gun it reasonably to meet traffic speed quickly. To many people coming out of there never bother to even try to reach speed heading toward town, "oh gosh, its only a little way, I won't bother to get past 30mph" in front of people you've just inconsiderately pulled out smack dab in front of could actually get you followed and road raged, or, believe it or not, a ticket for failure to yield and impeding traffic, or even reckless driving. Traffic entering town should be aware and cautious, but not so you can be rude, so you can enter responsibly and safely. If you doubt me read a "rules of the road". Are they really putting in another freaking light? Soon it'll be faster to drive to belleville to get to stl from randolph county.

good point, here's another, feeling entitled does not make it so, and taking what's not yours(right of way in this case) could get your ass rammed, neck broke, face bashed, or hundreds in fines.

My money bets the vast majority of people that bought houses in Vandebrook drove out there sometime after 10:00 AM or so and saw a house they just had to have. None of them had enough common sense to see there is only one way in and out of that subdivision. When making the most important purchase of your life, a little homework would go a long way in making sure it is where you want to live. Like maybe driving out there on AM BEFORE you buy the house to see what your daily commute is going to be like. Having to wait 5 minutes in a line of cars trying to pull out on Route 3 could be a deal breaker for someone with no patience.

But since they didn't have enough sense to do that ahead of time, too bad is all I can say. It will be fixed in another 2 or 3 years when they re-route the entrance to Vandebrook over to the stoplight already at South Market. It will be 1,000 times safer and it will not cause the need for an additional stop light on Rt 3.

For what it's worth, I'm one of those "idiots" that drives by Vandebrook every day. I was driving by well before it even existed. If you have to go to work in the morning and you're worried about having to wait a couple of minutes to pull out onto rte 3, then get your lazy ass up a few minutes earlier and the problem is solved. You see, I don't have a problem, YOU DO!

I drive that are regularly too, and I can promise you traffic is NEVER moving over 60mph, its usually around 50, which is absolutley fine, because the speed limit is 55, and it is NOT "in town". And traffic is rarely steady enough to warrant rudely pulling out in front of, nor does it usuallly require waiting more that 30 or 45 seconds. If you don't have the patience to wait for an opening then by all means, pull out smack in front of me, and I will broadside you and own your home soon.

Full details about extending Illinois Route 3 from Vandebrook Drive to North Market Street can be found in the link above.

Here is the report that was completed in June 2012:

http://www.dot.il.gov/ilroute3/IL%203%20Proje...

This will be happening very soon. I believe they are adding some stop lights (Illinois & rt3) and turn lanes (imagine that! now we won't have red bud folks riding our ass and cutting into ongoing traffic lane when we are trying to turn into Vandebrook). They will also be making it 4 lanes from North Market to the new Vandebrook intersection (south market).

"red bud folks riding our ass and cut into ongoing traffic lane when we are trying to turn into vandebrook", do you mean riding our ass after we pull out in front of them and passing us as we try to turn in,or what? Like I said, traffic is NEVER over an average of 60mph there, nobody rides anybodies ass most of the time that didn't desregard the rules of the road first. If you pull out of that intersection towards waterloo you should accellerate all the way to 55mph quickly, not 45, not 50, not 40, fifty friggin five. And if you're turning in you don't need to come to an almost complete stop, there's one lady in an suv that slows to a crawl like she's got a vette going over a speed bump. Its a highway, nobody wants to get rear ended so the bus doesn't jostle slightly. I still say the bigger problem is quarry trucks. I can't believe no one has died there.

Came south today and had the normal few vehicles turn into Vandebrook, and that was no big deal. Down by Nobbe traffic was backed up following a tractor. No big deal. He turned on Kaskaskia and I expected traffic to pick up.

When we get by Roma's and traffic still hasn't picked up above 40MPH, I finally figure out there is some SLOW POKE in a car, followed by two other people in cars afraid to pass, and then two tractor trailers that have NO CHANCE of passing three cars all at once. So we crawled along behind this slow poke car 40MPH all the way past LL.

THAT is the problem. Slow pokes. I saw one lady getting off of I-255 south on to route 3 doing 50MPH in the right hand lane. When I am on the off ramp and able to get over and pass her on the left, I look over and she is about 125 years old TALKING ON HER CELL PHONE. So we basically have a walking corpse driving a huge SUV with a phone stuck to her skull. I'd rather be on the road with a bunch of drunk drivers than the same road filled with elderly women drivers talking on their cell phones. Or a car packed with 5 or more teenage girls having 5 different conversations with five different people on their cell phones and not talking to each other in the car or paying attention to the road.

Wow do I feel better!!!!

You do realize that between John Deere and Romas there are about 8 businesses that all have clients turning in and pulling out all day long. This is not a good place to speed up and/or pass. Bad crash just last week in that area. Slow down!

Well put. And to be fair, for arguments sake, we should concede that there ARE, of course, people who ARE in too big of a hurry and fly a bit too fast regularly and don't give a break where its due. None of that excuses any of the other behavior, it adds to it. If you are alone on the road doing 70 and someone pulls out and reaches 55 or 60 get off their ass, no one should have to pass up a decent chance to enter the road so you can speed unhindered, pass, or slow to the limit. If everybody got moving a slight bit earlier gave themselves that precious 2 minutes spare time they gain by driving rudely and recklessly the whole world would be a better place.
