don't go to Kofargo. I went there for ten years. from when I was two to when I was twelve. The teachers are mean, and they don't let you watch your kids perform. Not to mention, it is the most expensive thing I have ever done. I never improved, and I switched to Pirouettes when I was thirteen. The staff is much better, and they know how to put on good shows, not to mention they let you watch rehearsals to, which Kofargo never lets you do. I was verbally abused at Kofargo. I cried almost every class because the old bat of a teacher was so mean. The instructor at Pirouettes went to Kofargo when she was younger too, then she went on to start her own company and decided not to treat her students with the same abuse. I love it!

I went to Kofarago for 12 years and there are definitely good and bad points, but in my opinion it's great. Yeah, they are strict, but they actually want you to learn dance not just put on a recital every year. When we did recitals(every 4 years) it was intense. The teachers took it very seriously and I can't explain how much i appreciated that. I went to a couple other studios after I stopped Kofarago to take a class here and there with friends. But let me tell you the technique there was NOTHING like Kofarago!! If you want your child to learn real technique Kofarago is a great place. If you want your child strutted out onto a stage at the end of each season, find somewhere else. Every 2 years between recitals, we also had demonstrations where we would do a small show for family. They are personal, taking time to know each of us and our parents. They take their jobs seriously so it's not just messing around and now and then a class did end in tears, but I loved my experience there.

It depends on what you want. Are you trying to put your kid in something for fun, which is fine, or for a strong dance future. Truly neither one is great, however, if you have to go to one or the other I would choose pirouettes. Bc pirouettes hires dancers from around the world. Kafargo is kafargo family and a few young others, the woman who owns and still teaches taught the owner of pirouettes and was ancient when she did that. Kafargo have been teaching the same for decades and bring in no new dance, which in order to keep up with dancers today you need that. However kafargo teachers are nice and fun. Therefore it all depends on what you want for your child. If possible, look for better places in St. Louis.
Dancers from around the world, how about dancers from around town. The owner is only worried about when she will get back to Florida again. There is little to zero one on one time there so if you want you child to be a good dancer you need to look elsewhere because it won't happen at pirouettes.
