Welcome! Shore roars with bikers

Roar on the Shore barrels into Erie today minus one of its stars, Peter Fonda. But the pluses of this spectacular event, now it its second season, far outweigh any disadvantages caused by Fonda's absence.

I want to take this time to express how much I hate, and I mean HATE motorcycles.

They are senseless. Most guys that ride them are compensating for a small penis. Most women that ride them have an identity crisis. Not to mention so many people that are killed on them.

In Erie, it is common for motorcycles and long-haired, tattooed, jean wearing, unemployed, "Cigarettes and Alcohol" singing, Z102 listening burned out hippies to go hand in hand.

What do the burned out hippies do? I think they all work on roofs or pain houses. Good for them.

The best part, they think its cool. Its not cool, its foolish. Its childish and hits "white-trash-ish".

Get a LIFE! Of course, these are the people who when told to get a life by their parents didnt listen and I dont expect they will listen now.

As for Pete Fonda, he is most recognized than Jesus Christ in Erie. That is sad. He is a washed up actor that represents a "generation". Just what did this "Generation" do that was so great anyway? The ones riding motorcycles sure as shit didnt do anything great. Bill Gates - YES. Steve Jobs - YES. These are people that made something of themselves. For the most part, this "Generation" of hippies and burnouts, also known as the parents of Generation X, left their mark with Drugs, Alcohol abuse, Divorce, Fraud, and did anything BUT serve as a role model for younger generations.

Just my opinion - hear me ROAR.

Yeah, I don't understand what this sentence even meant, but anyways.

Here is a update for you.

Peter Finda cancelled two days ago because the movie he IS doing right now won't give him the time to come up here.

He must hate motorcycles and reading. It was pretty clear in the story that Fonda wouldn't be in Erie.

I don't think your problem is with the bikers. It appears you are just a miserable ass with just a slight twinge of jealousy.

I and 3000 of my extended family of bikers will be looking forward to seeing all of you at the events, especially Mr. Positive Comments above. We are looking to beat last year's total contribution to charity. As for Hate Biker's belief that we are all the same, I will pray for him. Did you know that some bikers believe in God? Your description of all bikers has me wondering what happened to my tattoos, the long hair, the alcohol, the cigarettes, and Z102. I hate to show my ignorance, but is that a country western radio station or a hard rock station? Sorry I have to ask, but I've never listened to it. I also don't have my body inked up, I do not drink, I do not smoke. Pretty boring for a biker, huh? You know what else I don't have? I don't have a wallet attached to the end of a chain. I never had enough money to secure my wallet in that manner. One more thing - According to Men's Health, one of my biker magazines, the size of my gesticular appendage is above normal, therefore, I have nothing for which to compensate. I will admit, however, that I DO wear jeans when the weather is cool or cold. I don't think I have ever worn a pair more than 3 times without washing them. My guess is that there are some people who wear jeans who aren't bikers. You must have had a bad dream about cycles when you were a kid. If you hate motorcycles because, say, you lost a loved one on a cycle, I'm truly sorry to hear that. I am fairly confident that you don't think everyone who rides a motorcycle is a bad person, just like I don't think that everyone who is critical of bikes and bikers is a bad person.
Are you going to ride in the big parade spreading the good word to all of your brothers and sisters?

I would like to take this time to express how much I hate people who hate motorcycles. No, not really, but I’ll tell you, this person has done some serious profiling on Bikers… Let me see if I fit the standard mold here as established, or interpreted by Motorcycle Hater; I am a Boomer (parent of Gen X’rs), served 26 years in the U.S.M.C., raised 2 beautiful girls (twins) and sent them thru college, and currently a successful manager in a business operation. I’ve been riding Harley’s for a long time, and have a couple of tat’s, I wear my hair Marine Corps short, but I do wear a beard to protect the public from my Marine Corps ugliness, and I love classic rock. Is there any hope for me? Get over it, Bro. Harley’s and the Men and Women who ride them have been around for 105 years get used to it, we aren’t going anywhere. I wonder how many innocent people have been killed by drunken car drivers in comparison to motorcycle deaths. I wonder what great things you have done in your life Motorcycle Hater. Just my opinion... dr

Well, I will be there in spirit as I am not a big one for crowds. I have been riding for 21 years solo and do not have an idenity crisis going on.SO I am female and like to ride so what>? I think you if you did a research on the ages and salaries of bikers these days you'd find that alot of them are hard working souls that make above average wages, go to church and have families. Not all drink and there is a Christian motorcycle group. Oh yes and this whole run will be for charity, just like last years went for the cancer research. So come on down and enjoy the event and help the Shriners' hospital get more funding. It will be a good time and there will be a beautiful sunset and things to do..

Stormy,

People like Scott and Motorcycle Hater are really not worth the effort of a response.
Don't let them bait you. Those of us who know you, don't buy into these stereotypes.
Those two are really just trying to get a rise out of you. If you ignore the thread and their comments, it will die--I promise.

As long as bikers keep crying to LOOK TWICE AND SAVE A LIFE, all while creating their own rules of the road, and we keep seeing their "brothers and sisters" dying at a growing rate because of abuse of their priviledge to ride, you won't stop hearing from me.

Citi, Good morning to you. I know, but I still have to vent my spleen every now and again. Of course I'm kind of cheesed, because I had been planning to make the trip up to Erie for this event, but problems and other priorities have been ruling my life lately. How are you? I hope all is well, and if I haven't told you lately, you've done some excellent posting. Later, Dear..@}-/-,- dr

Just please try not to trash the downtown while you're visiting. Remember, many businesses here have security cameras -- SMILE!

Wow - did you really write all that to show how ignorant you really are or were you just trying to stir up a fight?

I don't understand your bias and hatred towards roofers and painters. Those types of jobs need to be done and somebody has to do them. The ones I know aren't stoner old hippies or dirt bags like you claim they are. Thats another point you're wrong on - if they are lazy dirty old hippies how are they affording those gorgeous motorcycles? Do you know how much a new one costs? Especially a Harley or one of the custom choppers. Even a used bike in good condition isn't anywhere near cheap.

Do some research before spouting off on a topic you really know nothing about. Do you know how many "professionals" own and ride? I'm talking doctors, lawyers, teachers, professors, business leaders//owners, accountants, etc, etc, etc,...

Seems to be you based your entire opinion about bikers on the movie "Easy Rider" - many things have changed since then....
