Paid leave is the way it's done now. After all, he has to get his day in court at the taxpayer's expense.
Unfortunately, teacher's aren't the role models they used to be. He should have been suspended from teaching with the first DWI.

Role models they used to be????
The difference between now and then is how law enforcement operates.. To say teachers from "back in the day" were not doing
the same damn thing is completely absurd... It just wasn't reported!!!!!!

I'm sorry to here about this new infraction. This guy was a my son's coach at one time. He seemed like a nice guy. I've also heard of the allegations regarding an inappropriate relationship with a student. I never realized he was on PAID leave. The school has kept this whole story very quiet. He seems to be taking life lessons from former Representative Sweeny. Mr. Proper GO GET HELP NOW!

So you think it is O.K. to pay a fired employee? What about paying him back salary if found innocent and save the state some money? Why do these public sector parasites get this special treatment when if it were you or me that got fired from a private sector job you get nothing and probably couldn't even sue them? If he was diddling a kid he is a stinking bum.
