Rumor has it the Township and the Chief of Police settled the discrimination suit, but no public information has yet been released.

Thanks for the update Rich. I went in one day about three years ago. It was really clear the female staff was on pins and needles. One male staff a tall thin guy with a mustache was making a real jerk of himself. He was not wearing a name tag but otherwise in full Waterford Police uniform. Seemed like the women were being harassed but were just trying to ignore it. I don't get good vibes about McCaw. Another another resident said the same just recently. Neighbors claim Waterford Police are still 'old school'. I get the feeling the ones at the top are making the problems giving special treatment to their buddies etc. and the guys below them are just trying to stay out of their way and do their job. The ones on the street have always seemed to know what they are doing.

Yes, I found that out in Bloomfield Hill with the Police, I was speeding a little to hurry to get to the restroom at my home and I was like one min. from home and a police man followed me to my home and when I got out of my car, there he stood with a gun pointed at me, and said stop or I will shoot. I told him what ever I did I will be right back, I have to use the restroom, I have a urology problem. He said I am the police and you do what I say and YOU can not. I went into my home going through the garage and he followed me and he did not knock or use the door handle, he used a taser gun and kicked the door in with his big feet and dirty boots. NOT one door but many and then I was up into handcuffs and put into jail like a criminal or a bank robber, and when I wrote to the Chief of police, he said I was a felon and the officer did the right thing. Also I was beat up while I was in handcuffs the officer stomped on my face, neck and back. Most people think of the police as people that will help you and when you are sick and in pain get you help, NOT the Police in Bloomfield Hills, they will put you in jail and laugh about it later, I was in court for the 3rd time yesterday and the 3 officers were there and still making jokes and laughing at me. They are a sad group of people to be called police officers.

Wow - the details change each and every time you tell this story. You are now a convicted felon and will have a record that will follow you forever. Thank God the court took away your license as you are clearly delusional and a menace on the road.(Hey - what happened to the surveillance video from inside your friend's house?)

Yes, it is o.k. for cops to commit crimes - or so they think! They hide behind their badges....have the attitude that they are untouchable....

I have a story that would make your skin crawl regarding the Waterford Police......I am working to make it public. If more people would speak up and out, maybe things would change.

Hats off to the ladies who decided to do just that!

I had a guy pick up my wallet at a gas station. I KNEW the guy took it. The clerk new who he was and he worked just down the road. well after waiting almost 2 hours for waterfords finest to arrive, i followed officer incompitent to the mans work place where upon arriving, said officer shook the hand of the owner and shot the breeze for a while. after about 5 minutes he finally confronted the THEIF, coming back and explaining to me that he's been an incompitent officer for twenty years and 'judging by the THIEFS body language, he didn't take my wallet.' Appearently officer incompitent is also a body language expert. what a joke. he didn't even write a report. I tried to at the station but the jackoff at the desk said that the incident number on the card officer incompitent gave me was considered a report number. Well it didn't fly with the SS Office. Since I stupidly had my SS card in my wallet, among other IMPORTANT items, I still can't get a new SS card. Officer incompitent wouldn't even go back to the gas station and look at the security tapes. If he would have he would've saw exactly what i did, a fat, hairy, cro-magnon looking tow truck driver pick up my wallet, get in his ratrod and drive off. Officer incompitent just shrugged his shoulders and said i should be more careful with my personal belongings. Can you believe that crap?!?! Piss on township police!!! Isn't state and county enough? I know they aren't all this way, but come on. DO YOUR JOB!!!!!!!!

You're right...they might not all be the same but it only takes ONE bad apple to spoil the bunch and if the BUNCH doesn't want to be labeled as "spoiled" then maybe THEY should step up and be honest about things! Remember, the Waterford Police had, not ONE but TWO law suites filed against them for the same thing within months of each other - and the same detective was involved iin both incidents! HELLO! Who is this Chief McCaw and who is he protecting besides himself? And WHY? Is everyone blind? Is all of Waterford crooked? Is anyone listening?

Are you serious? Did you really mean that..."It's a TRICK?" What planet did you come from? Have you ever been harrassed by the Waterford Police? Are you just one of those people who choose to just roll up in a ball and hide? Unfortunately, the only way to fight back and stand up for yourself is to SUE them! It's not about money...it's about your RIGHTS! Next time you make a comment like that, just remember something...The higher up the tree the monkey climbs, the more you can see his a--!

Marv and others in Waterford:

I am a 68 year old grandmother and have been harassed by the Waterford police in the past. They are out of control and have misused the "color of the law" repeatedly against citizens. On my case they had been harassing and joking about me until I decided to just fight back to the so called "judge" that was to try me for going 5 miles over the speed limit. While I was waiting outside the courtroom a woman who kept asking me questions sat next to me. I soon realized that she had a wire on and was feeding our conversation into the small office just outside of the courtroom. When she realized by my answere that I knew she had a microphone she moved her shoulder over to allow for better communication for those who were quietly and quickly walking into the small room. In total there were at lease 6-8 police in this room and all I kept thinking about is about the clowns in the circus crowding into a car. My laughter was not so private. Just fight back to these crooked cops by laughing at them and DO NOT VOTE FOR MORE POLICE IN OAKLAND COUNTY PERIOD. Let them walk the streets or work two or three jobs like we have to. Actually, I have three degrees and have no respect for law inforcement in Michigan. This includes Mike Cox our so called attorney general too. When I had a chance to talk to him he openly advised me that his job is to protect Michigan not its citizens whether it is in homes that are taken illegally or issues that are raised.

For Marv: Find a lawyer to sue the cops? Kind of hard to do. They're all afraid too. You want some names? I think that you're on this sight to help the cops and to bring out the people who speak out. But....I'm not afraid of you or them. I have names - lots of them and I will bring them out. For Mary: You're a wise and strong lady. I'd like to meet you someday. I believe everything you said. There's no doubt in my mind.

Wow Rosemary - this gives me the willies. I have always wondered about the Waterford Police and that unsolved double homicide that occurred in July around 2005. It never got solved. what do you think about that? Do you think it will ever get solved with Chief McCaw and this lead detective who keep getting sued for sexual harassment? I would really like to know for sure.

Troubling to hear these stories. Glad people are speaking up. I am not sure what to believe.

Those Waterford Police I know I have only the highest respect for. I do acknowledge that there is at least two who need to be either strongly reeled in or if they remain a problem they need to be cut from the department. I do not have any faith in the current Chief of Police and the past Chief was only marginally better. The two most recent Chiefs were not educated people. They may think they have street smarts but they are running the department as if it was 50 years ago. My opinion is the problem is those at the top are not qualified to administer a police department.
