This is to announce the candidacy of Jeremy Rocha for Turlock City Council.
November 4, 2008

Dear Citizen of Turlock,

My name is Jeremy Rocha and I am running for a seat on the Turlock City Council in the up coming elections of 2008. I am writing this letter to you to ask for your support. I ran for office in 2006 but was unable to win because I did not have the funds to get my message out to the voters.

About Me:
 California State University Stanislaus student majoring in Political Science.
 AA in Transfer Studies obtained at Modesto Junior College
 2005 Turlock High School Graduate.
 Intend to go to law school.

My platform and focus was and continues to be based on the people. I want the job to improve communication between the council and the public, to get individuals interest in our local government and I want the job to make a difference in our community. I believe that the more people involved in local government the better our city will become. I also believe that the City of Turlock needs strong and determined leadership and that is what I will provide. Also, with my leadership the residents of our city will have the most open and honest councilman in our city’s history. I will always be willing to answer questions, explain my decisions and will not make any decision lightly. I recognize that the decisions made by local governments affect our everyday lives and I will represent the community by keeping its best interest in mind. Also, I will always remember that it is the public that gives me the power to make decisions. My leadership will involve two parts. The first is setting standards. Setting standards on how the council interacts with the public. It is in my opinion that it needs to interact more and definitely be more open. The second is leading by example. I will not expect anything of anyone else that I do not expect of myself.

Please give me the chance to prove that I deserve the job. I am asking for a donation of $20 and have enclosed a postage paid envelope. Your $20 donation will allow me to reach households across our city. With your donation I will be able to get my message to the voters with mailings, signs and flyers. It will allow me to establish a website with more detailed information about my candidacy. My goal is to get as many people participating in this local election as possible. If you have any questions or comments please write or e-mail me at Thank you for your time.

Send donations to:
