I'm really excited about this meeting, and plan to attend. As as a staff member on Tyler 1, it is a rare treat to see the policymakers' interactions on "our" turf. Sometimes the disconnect can be so intimidating and frustrating between the boardroom and the floor. and this gives us an opportunity to play a part in bridging this gap. Thank you for arranging this event!

I wish there were a way to ditch HCRS and get a better mental health agency going.

it's basicly non existant and these "lawmakers" are likely meeting to find out what else they can cut from the budget, the lack of beds in appropriate clinical enviornments is already criminal and a statewide disgrace.

Then want to take them from one obsolete place and put them in another obsolete place.

The Retreat is generally a good place, but 16 beds hardly scratches the surface of the overwhelming need. It's almost a joke. When are people going to get real about how many VERY mentally ill are out there? Why does everybody think you can just stuff a pill down their throat and presto, the problem is solved?
