yeah? I'll wager NONE of the "regular" veterans will see anything of this, all the administrators of all the Vet organizations will keep it all, do you REALLY think us average X GI's will get a vehicle or computer donated them?...if you do, then you don't know a thing about how Hierarchy works in America.

...As usual when it comes to Veterans, we're still getting screwed, unless you're coming back from Iraq or Afghanistan, then yer' a fukin' hero. whatever.

GMB, it really sounds like you have a beef against our Vets who are coming back from Iraq & Afghanistan. What's the deal? And, what's the difference between a "regular" vet and one who just got back? You sound very bitter and you still have a foul mouth! It also sounds like you're the one who needed the counceling when you got home, it's never too late you know.

Ok Santa, or GMB - I never claimed to know what a Vet goes through so if you want to spend the rest of your life angry and blaming everyone for your problems, continue on the way you're going, spitting out venom and filth but don't criticize our new Veterans.

Well what the hell is this and why didn't they at least send us a
memo informing us that veterans are now being classified as
Old Veterans and New Veterans???? Do you have a copy of that memo
because I sure would like to read it?????

There also seems to be a discrepancy in this story in reference
to the cost... I say this because our fine Government has a
habit of paying $5000 for a $50 item and if we go by their figures someone might be paying $100 for a used stapler....

Let it also be known that organizations like the VFW, an organization which DENIED MEMBERSHIP to Vietnam Vets because
of anti-war rhetoric at the time, an organization which offered
membership to FIRST BORN/NON VETERAN SONS because of dwindling
membership, is in line to take advantage of a program like this
and these items could be purchased by any card carrying member,
VETERAN OR NOT.........

Organizations like The American Legion and VFW who for years
refused to jump on board the fight for benefits for Vietnam
Vets suffering from the effects of agent orange and god only knows how many have died from it..... I find it comical as hell when
these fine organizations then have the balls to claim they are
the ones who are responsible for the expansion of benefits when
they would not even acknowledge the fight of the DAV in reference
to the concerns of those effected by agent orange.....
And then there is the case where the VFW and Legion fought against
Vietnam Vets in their case to pass legislation which would put
denied benefit claims before a judicial review board instead of
a regional VA office... What a hoot these fine organizations are...
To them, you can fight for your country but when it comes to the due process of law,(denied claims) you have no rights and are at
the mercy of some review clerk at the VA....

As for you "Disgusted", nobody has said anything about the
returning troops and I for one support them 100% so you can stick
that "criticize" comment in your sss..... We have no problems
with any veteran, from any war.... I do however have a problem
with organizations like the VFW and Legion in that they are
nothing more than little clubhouses with illegal gambling and
discounted alcohol which have out lived their intended purpose
and are now running huge campaigns to recruit Gulf War Vets to
join..... Come on in GI Joe, have a drink and please excuse that
smell of stale beer and peez, you'll get used it!!!!!

GMB is the one who put our Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans into another category from the "regular" veterans as he called them. My Dad was a veteran, my brothers are veterans and my son is a veteran. All Veterans deserve the best this country has to offer.
