"Percieived conflict of interest"...not only perceived...obvious from the get go. You can't even appoint him to the board. And heck if I'm affiliated with 10 companies does that mean I can give $20k ?? All it takes to have a company is about 10 minutes on the computer on the Secretary of States website and $200.00

Now here is the Pete Shumlin we all know and his other personality " what is in it for me". Here's a field that is new so the old shepherd Pete will watch the herd of money for us Bo Peep "trust me". Shumlin can turn a used car salesman into the Pope with a touch to his nose. He is the JOE BIDEN of Vermont. Say it's not so Pete but wait and hold your [b/s breath]. The best side of Shummy is his back when he leaving but not with out your money

Bittersdorf had his finger in too many pies at once. Shumlin did the right thing by firing him as soon as he found out. Can you imagine Douglas doing that with VY? It wouldn't happen.

New Clear Waste is right. Douglas would never fire anyone with a self-interest in VY; nor would Dubie.

Dubie's supporters above failed to read the whole story. Blittersdorf is the most qualified guy in the state to do this work would obviously be the first choice to receive the funds.

These knuckleheads like "your arbiter" and "flatlander" are obviously Dubie supporters trying to make something out of nothing. They have plenty to work with since Dubie is a lot of nothing.

Can you imagine if this was Douglas...new clear waste would be still calling for his head. Because it is Shumlin she isn't. "Shumlin did the right thing"...as soon as he found out it was a controversy. New Clear Waste. You are a hypocrit.

Actually you are the hypocrit. Speculating about what Douglas would do as some sort of protective argument for Shumlin is the worst kind of hypocrisy. Douglas hasn't been accused of anything and neither has Dubie. The only person in the spotlight is Shumlin and Blittersdorf who has paid Shumlin a lot of money for alternative energy favorabililty. Just like Al Gore running around promoting cap and trade while he invests big money in start ups that would profit by it.

Let's take a look at Shumlin's private investments and see if we have the same thing going on.

As for you if you aren't a hypocrit you should be talking about this as if it is Douglas who you obviously hate. But you won't because you are a Shumlin supporter and like most democrats you are a hypocrit. Prove me wrong by asking for Shumlin to release all his private investments. Let's see how many investments in GE and other companies which stand to profit heavily from alternative energy he has.

Shumlin donor at center of dispute
By DAVE GRAM / Associated Press

Tuesday September 7, 2010

“Shumlin had appointed Blittersdorf to the board last year, one of three appointments he was allowed to make as president pro tem of the Vermont Senate. Meanwhile, campaign finance filings at the secretary of state’s office show that Blittersdorf had donated the legal maximum of $2,000 to Shumlin’s campaign, as have two companies he operates, Earth Turbines and Earth NRG Services.”

Yes it is mike and always has been. But sometimes the self interest and the general interest are similar or close enough so a lot of good can be done. Human nature will always dictate what will happen. Putting programs in that allow people to avoid work or get a free ride will be tremendously successful but in the end are bad for all of us as a society as we rationalize why it is ok to take something for nothing. Democrats fail to recognize that human nature needs to be taken into account when entitlements are created. They also fail to recognize the damage they do to the psyche of the recipients. The destruction of self respect and the creation of a permanent underclass of people.

On the other hand the greed factor for private enterprise works when it results in wealth building not only for the owners but for the employees as well.

The big time salaries are tough to swallow except and when you consider that they are the product of new wealth as opposed to a redistribution of existing wealth. Then no one has lost anything except by comparison which calls up another human characteristic. Jealousy.

I kinda like Entergy now...they got a sense of playfulness and humor. So they float the idea of a sale of VY in the media...but they were really annunciating the beginning of a attack on Shumlin. So Entergy’s announcement of the rumor of the sale to NRG was the shot across Shumlin’s bow with political improprieties.

Can’t see Shumlin reading the papers about the sale, who do I know that works for NRG? I wonder if he thought the sale announcement was actually the announcement of a Bitterdorf bear trap over his political improprieties.

I got to tell ya, Entergy made me laugh this morning.
