I hate to see things like this happen, and its sad that all these customers and employees have to suffer because of 1 selfish man, chris carr, i really hope the state gives him what he deserves and he enjoys a long term in prison

I'm only hearing about the oil contracts. Should I assume all this applies to their propane contracts as well?

The Propane is not part of F&S Oil. They were purchased by a midwest corporation and only kept the name. They are a seperate company.

I should have known something wasn't right about this company. I just retained their services 6 months ago for home oil. I did not have a pre-pay contract but after 1 month my bill went from $450 to $850. When I called in questioned the bill the phone mysteriously hung up on me and when I called back I couldn't get an answer just their voicemail. I hope I can find another oil company really soon as my oil will be running out in a matter of weeks.

The state of Ct was to ensure that there were valid purchases to cover prepaid oil.I hope there is a performance bond that can be called to pay all of us back for the F&S failure.
Channel 8 - Where can we go to get help to get our money back? Do we sue F&S in small claims court or is that fruitless? Personal assests of the owners need to be seized to pay us back. They should keep nothing until we are all paid back.

He is a family friend and all of you do not know the circumstances. You write on blogs like this acting as if you are some sort of authority to comment on the situation. But you aren't. Get over yourself and leave this family alone.

There are plenty of reasons this company went under. Un-licensed service technicians, pay checks for people who don't even work for the company etc....

Friend or not, there is no excuse for taking money from innocent people like myself. I don't care what the circumstances are... are they worried about the customers who are out hundreds and thousands of dollars due to their issues. Get over ourselves... I think not. Teach your friends how to be responsible business owners and not take from others to fuel their own financial needs.

One more thing to add.... the owner went on the news stating he had no idea what went wrong.... so if the owner doesn't know the circumstances, maybe you can enlighten him and us as to what they are and why we are out money, since you are standing by them and their circumstances. I am out almost 1300.00 because of this. Please tell me how you can find that acceptable.

Carr is in hiding. Dick Stevens has been co-operative with the State Investigators. Where is Carr?? If you are such good friends with him, tell him to come forward. Why is he hiding?

How can the owner, Dick Stevens, not know what is going on in his company. It sounds as though the operation was very loose, from top to bottom.

I grew up next door to Carr, and watched him drive fancy cars, belong to the town beach club and recently put a huge new addition on his home one block up from the beach in Fairfield. I definitely don't feel bad for him.

If you do a little background check, you'll discover this is not the first time for Mr. Carr. Hope he gets the max...

I hope that the owner gets what's coming to him. We are a few of the people scammed by this company. We prepaid for the oil in good faith. The company only delivered 100 gallons to us at the beginning of this month. Now we are faced with having to purchase more oil somewhere else, when we still have 229 gallons of oil owed to us. We had to prepay using a credit card, which we still owe a balance on for the oil. Now we need more oil to heat our hot water, and have to pay again elsewhere. We cannot put a dispute through the credit card company because it is over 90 days. This is very upsetting, and anyone that makes excuses for this unscrupulous, dishonest person, that has defrauded many people, would certainly feel differently, if the same thing had happened to them. Certainly I would never admit to being a friend of the owner of the company.
