Please note that Mister Bee chips were NOT trying to be "lowfat." Rather, the company was, commendably, trying to make their product more in line with no trans fat products. This is an issue that goes far beyond the ever-expanding waistlines of Americans, in general, and West Virginians, those proud folks in the wild and wonderful land of the company's home territory.
I reiterate my support of the direction taken by Mister Bee, and I trust that, at some point in the future, they will, through the wonders of modern science, be able to provide the "original" taste in products that are less compromising to the health of those of us who enjoy them, wherever we may be.
You may think they were trying to help us by making a healthier chip but I still have 15 bags of chips that I wont even feed to the birds they taste so bad. Living 9 hours from home they USED to be the only chip I would eat. If they wanted to make a healthier chip just put it in a different bag and market it as such, don't change every flavor without warning. I am glad to hear they went back to the original recipe, nobody in my WV family told me because everyone I know stopped eating them.

Hope everyone is right and Mr. Bee has returned to the orginal formula. I was in WV last summer and when there we usually by 4 to 6 large bags to bring back to GA. But to my disappointment, the chips were awful. Mr. Bees were the one thing I always looked forward to being able to get. It was a snack food staple.

I love Mr. Bee's. My parents' grew up in Parkersburg and whenever we make the pilgrimage from Chattanooga, TN to Parkersburg, we always bring back several bags for us and for friends' of the family who lived in Ravenswood for years. I think the most recent bag I got was a little different tasting but they are STILL the best potato chips around.

I would like to know why Mr. Bee Chips cannot come to Berea, Kentucky. I graduated from Williamstown High School in 63 and never ate any kind of chips but Mr. Bee. I never get any until I come back to Williamstown to visit. Why can't we have Mr. Bee's in Kentucky we are not that many miles away.....

WOW! I didn't realize that Mr.Bee's were loved by so many. I along with everyone else on this site grew up eating Mr.Bee. I had noticed the change and even now that some say they went back to the good recipe, I only buy the plain ones to eat with Broughton's french onion dip. Which by the way I knew that you couldn't buy Mr.Bee's everywhere, but I thought that you could get Broughton's french onion dip anywhere. Oh that stuff is the best, I've not found anyone to even come close. We do have some good food here in our little hole in the wall town. I definetly agree with the one from Dayton, Ohio. I too love the broadway Sandwhich Shop and Mr.Bee's chips with Broughtons dip. In fact I'd prefer that any day over a nice steak dinner or something. You know thinking about the changes in Mr.Bee's has made me realize.... Does anyone remember when they used to sell Mr.Bee's by the big boxes?? I've not seen them like that for a very long time. Anyways good luck to all with getting your favorite chips back...lol.

I remember the boxes! We used to bring a couple back to Texas from Parkersburg in our station wagon once a year and eat every last crumb. We haven't done that since the late '80's. I got online hoping to surprise my mother with a box for her birthday, but if they are not the same chips anymore maybe I shouldn't.

If you contact Mr B's directly, they will ship the chips to you! Prepare to pay with credit card, but it's really cheap for a case :-) We had a case of BBQ sent to Florida for my step-son.

Oh NO!!! Please tell me this isn't true!! I live in Florida now, but I come from WV (New Martinsville) and there is NO BETTER potato chip in the world! There is no other chip that fixes the craving. I want them to be around forever!!! I have them sent and brought to me and I am coming home soon and expect to be able to buy some while I am there!!!

Distraught in Jacksonville!

I work retail and I have seen nearly a 60% decline in the Mister Bee brand chip sales. My vendor previously (before the change) would be able to leave huge displays in the store and on a good weekend customers would empty them. Unfortunately now Mister Bee is reduced to selling only from a small section on the back wall. It's sad to see a local business crumble. Many of us grew up with Mister Bee's potato chips in our homes on a daily basis. It was an everyday item but now with the recipe change they have become just another potato chip lacking originality.

Sure , eat the "old " recipe Mister Bee potato chips made with partially hydrogenated fats and we will have more people with heart problems and clogged arteries. This transfat will clog arteries faster than saturated fat. Trying to keep my family healthy we don't buy products made with transfats.
