Hello, I'm moving to Parkersburg soon. What roads or sections should I avoid moving to?

Pretty much anywhere south of the Kanawha River. That is a place some people call 'South Parkersburg'. It realy is not a part of Parkersburg, what so ever. Alot of people report that when crossing any bridge to 'South Parkersburg' their skin feels like it is crawling and they get a feeling of impending doom. The story told localy is that 'South Parkersburg' has a magical power of attracting the criminal, slow whitted and undesireable elements of society.
Hope this helps in answering your question.

Don't pay any attention to Stan. He has some rough times with all the booze he consumes. Welcome to our wonderful little town. You are safe anywhere you go. It's also gay friendly.

LOL, that sounds more like a description of a moth man event.
South Parkersburg IS part of Parkersburg. There's 2 sides of Parkersburg and they are described as North Parkersburg & South Parkersburg. I agree in avoiding the Covert St, Spring St, 13th Street & St Marys Avenue areas.

Terrapin apartments safe in live in? Lakeview Estates or Rolling Hills?
Looking on internet for places for rent. Prefer 3 bedroom house for myself and one elderly parent. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

there are several nice rental property's in meadowcrest. Average area. Mostly older blue collar workers live there. Also gay friendly. If you are looking for something more upscale look no father then south hills. Rich and affluent well to do. Less than average income, look no father than Ann street. Slummy run down very old homes. Street is still in brick, not paved very rough. Most of those houses are for sale. Run down property. Well good luck

If I am not mistaken, Lake view estates are for senior living. I haven't heard anymore about them. I can tell you they are very close to a main strip in North Parkersburg.
Rolling Hills offers low income housing. There are some good honest people there, but at the same time it is low income living so it does attract more questionable behavior.
Terrapin park townhouses are located on Covert st. Which I would avoid.
There are some Town houses and apartments located on Palmer drive off of 36th st. Those are really nice. They are located near a trailer park, but when I lived there, I never had any issues.

Jennifer you are the reason why we left those apartments on Palmer drive. Always hitting on guys, with your slutty trailer park ways. Go back to Ritchie county were you belong.

Most everywhere in Parkersburg stinks unless it's a higher class suburb like Vienna.

Lakeview Estates takes younger people. I knew a 20 something teacher who lived there about 6-7 years ago.

I echo the stay away from 13th, St. Mary's, and Covert St areas. Add Swan St. to that list too. Rough area.

Other than that, the whole town is a pretty decent place.

So far anyway...

Avoid Terrapin Apartments. Lake view estates are okay. Don't listen to Stan in his above ignorant post. South Parkersburg is wonderful, most of the crime occurs in North Parkerburg in the above mentioned areas, Spring St, 13th St, Covert St etc.

Please don't listen to that. South Parkersburg has a little bit of trouble but nothing compared to actual north Parkersburg. Criminals are everywhere but they come from the north side ghetto. South side is a good place to live better yet mineral wells is nice and quiet. Not much happens out there.

I'm sure a lot has changed since I lived there, which was only for about 6 months.. But I absolutely loved it there. I also wasn't right in Parkersburg, I lived in Mineral Wells.
I was warned right off hand to stay away from South Pburg, because of it being the 'bad side'. After venturing off to the South side a few times, I didn't mind it.
Every city has a bad and good part to it, and oddly, that's every part of it. It doesn't matter what street, district or the name of the neighborhood, there's always going to be a bad apple. If I had the choice, I'd come back and try it all over again.
Good luck with wherever you end up!

What part of southside. I understand there is a lot of wiggers in north end. Also the poop plant is on north end. Naaaasty. North end smells like poo all the time. Must be the people

There are wiggers on south side too. They end every sentence with the word "boy". I got this weed, boy, and some beers boy. But yeah north end comes equipped with all the trappings of negrodom despite being super white. Every other car has those jungle beats drifting out of it at a high volume. If I were you I would move to Vienna.

IDK what part of South side. I said I only lived there for about 6 months.. I also stated it doesn't matter what part of town you move to, you'll always have a bad apple there. I really enjoyed living in Pburg, and while venturing out to get to know the city and my way around, I saw crazy things everywhere.

Really? Wiggers? Also, something you will see everywhere.. I even seen that in Mineral Wells.
