Pritchard to be paroled

I think there are more people who knew about it before and after it happened. Christopher Wayne Pritchard, a Washington man serving a life sentence for aiding and abetting in the 1988 murder of Lieth Von Stein of Washington, his stepfather, is scheduled to be paroled June 2. He lied on the stand to save his life, knowing Henderson has admitte after his release to the physical attack on Von Stein andPritchard knows this and still lied to send an innocent man to Death Row. Henderson is now strung out on drugs so why has his parole not been revoked? The used in this crime also belonged to henderson. He and Prichard belong in prison to serve time for lieing to have an innocent man incarcerated and they are free? Pritchard was bought out of prison with the money he killed for. His mother should be ashamed of herself.

N. Drew, I have to agree with you about the mom. She used the victims money to defend the killer. Pay for lawyers, etc, and he is probably at her house right now, being taken care of her, whose money do you think is paying for the water, lights, etc, the victims leftovers... He could still possibly get the the inheritance when she dies... Crazy..

I just looked up james upchurch on the internet and see that his sentence is not the death penalty anymore but is life. What happened there? Can't find anything. As far as the mother, well, we don't know what we would do in someone else's shoes, so I have to give her the benefit of the doubt. But how in heaven's name can he face his mother? And, really, how can she face him?

I know Moog (James Upchurch) and Chris Pritchard when I was in college. I actually roomed with James for a brief time after the murders (although I did not see him much, I guess for obvious reasons). My guess is Chris's mother is doing what a good number of mothers would do for their children.

To curious and Kevin_PA: the question is not 'how can she face him?', but rather,'how can she sleep at night with him in the house???' probably with one eye open!... yes, love IS blind, but in this case, Kevin, I would make sure that I had 20/20 vision if I were his mom.

I know this is June of 08, a year after your postings, but I just saw the movie about this case on TV this weekend, and even though I had seen it before, watched again. Was curious as to what had become of them and whether Chris had been paroled. My search led me here. Thanks for the info.

I believe that Moog should be released!! This is an outrage. Everyone in NC knows that Henderson is the real killer, and yet he is out roaming the streets a free man. And who can forget the lovely Angela....She needs to be in prison also, because she KNEW what was going to happen. Chris covered for her butt and she should be kissing it everyday for the rest of her life. July 10th, 2008.....

Bonnie is guilty, as well as Angela. Detective Taylor can say what he wants to a newspaper reporter, but 'off the record' he has spoken and named Henderson as the 'admitted' killer. Bonnie is as evil as Chris for essenitally 'paying off' her son with Von Stein's money. The person(s) on death row should have been Angela/Bonnie/Chris. Goes to show what happens when a hick, small town, illiterate jury makes the decision. The worst small-town jury bias there ever was...The road to hell is likley paved with Bonnie's involvement.

Yet, Von Stein's brain was leaking out of his skull when the cops arrived, due to over 9 hits with a bat, added to the 9 stab wounds. She was not wounded enough to fall unconscious, that is simply untrue (read the SBI investigation reports). Henderson sure did not try to kill her very hard, did he? Suffer??? How has she suffered?

you are very judgemental, but i believe she suffers just having a son like that and no husband. she is acting just like the anthony family in florida.

I just read this book and found it appaling that the mother was so blase' about everything! Protect your kids always, I DON'T THINK SO! He tried to have her offted, what the????? I have no sympathy for the mother except for the fact that she had to suffer pain at the hands of her own son. Also Neal was only the driver, he gets life for that? Thought he plea-bargained for it. Horrible thing to have happened.
