My best friend and I were driving down North Brighton last year and a mountain lion ran across the street right in front of us with a dead cat in its mouth. Scary thing was, it ran right into a residential neighborhood. It was about dusk when we saw it. We called it in and they told us there weren't any in Missouri and that we must have seen a deer. I'm 54 and my best friend is 56. We know the difference between a deer and a mountain lion. Deer don't eat dead cats. We were terrified that it ran into a residential neighborhood where little kids play and there is a gradeschool right down the street. North Brighton isn't too far from where they found the dead mountain lion in 2002 off Parvin Road (it wasn't near downtown), it was off Parvin Road.

Mountain Lion sightings have really increased recently. They're here, just not in large numbers. A national parks spokeman attributed to the increased sightings to young males seeking out new territory.

There are black bears in southern Missouri and Arkansas and I would assume Oklahoma as well.

To get this far east from the mountains, the mountain lions must be following streams and rivers. Otherwise, the land almost too cut up with properties and roads.

I had some spicy Mexican food last night. This morning I took a massive Yeti and had to use a whole roll of toilet paper to wipe my Springfield.
