An interesting post George. If only it were all true.
America and many other Countries have always believed that the resources that are available, anywhere on the Planet, are there for the taking! "In the National Interest"

I would disagree with the word "taking" and replace with "purchasing". Africa needs to get a whole lot smarter in business that's all. Enough of the tyrants filling their own pockets, get rid of them and have true leaders that think of the country and its citizens. There is nothing wrong with selling natural resources as long as the country is left in good standing and the rewards are used for the betterment of the country. I know that is a tall order even for so called civilized countries where big business and religion seem to reap the rewards but we can only try.

It actually started with JFK, pushing America into that idiotic Vietnam conflict! Another pointless war that wasted 57,000 young American lives, and a fortune in American taxpayer's money.

Hard to say if he won anything , "yippies" only win when they ride off into the "dun"
set.
He set plenty of that , gave everybody the shits.
Took the US from abundant to debacle.
1979 Tehran hostage drama gives Ronald landslide "wow".
Iran's "gumption" certainly cleaned up with that one.
What they achieved putting that bone head in power makes today's US sanctions against Iran look like a present for Iran.
You could rely on the Yanks to do the stupid thing , in them days.
Pity Romney isn't here.
The US would be normalized and happy.
Reaganominics , first year 25% tax cut.
Then..........
Decentralized power structures to resemble the Ottoman Empire.
Abolished tax altogether for millions and millions of quite wealthy people.
Regan tripled National debt in 8 years.
1989 ND , stood at 2.5 trillion.
The beginning of the end.
Yippee.

With the media feeding the public so you think you can dance, sing, renovate houses in a day, survival and roomate shows, with music having no message except party! and support the troops, how far away is the end? Sounds like Rome. Now the budget crisis that is a war of wills between politicians. Notice there really isn't a peep about Putin since this started? The Russians were sending in some real warships just before this crisis. Anybody got some real news of it?

..........Yep, got that on-the-job foreign policy training while at MGM. The last several presidents have done what they were told to do by big money. Eisenhower had it right, now we're screwed. Reagan could read a script with the wanted emotion and Obama can smile while lying.
