If you're ever out and have your laptop with you, here's one way to easily see TV if something big is going down. I'm sure there's other links. This one is for CBS.

I've grown jaded to these school/shopping mall/work place shootings. They still sadden me, but I no longer care that much. They just keep occurring week after month after year. I've chosen not to let these madmen occupy my thoughts. Am I alone in feeling that way?

To be honest weve become sort of jaded by these events-doesnt mean your uncaring but as you said it saddens you and the fact you asked tells me your not without feelings which is more than can be said for the shooter..

Be careful with that, Smoken Joe. There's some mis-identification going around.

Thinking back to when my kids were in kindergarten, I couldn't even imagine sending them to kindergarten and learning later they were shot. The parents must be going through some horrific that I couldn't even imagine. My heart goes out to the parents of these young children.

What kind of an animal could do something like this?

Did the gunman have a mental illness? In that sense I could see him as somewhat a victim. Mental illness care in this country is horrible, and the stigma attached to it is even worse. I'm not saying he's faultless or anything but usually it's not sane people who shoot up schools.

Again, I'm not siding with him or anything. Just stating a possible factor.

Mike Huckabee, on Fox News:

"We ask why there is violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed God from our schools," Huckabee said on Fox News, discussing the murder spree that took the lives of 20 children and 6 adults in Newtown, CT that morning. "Should we be so surprised that schools would become a place of carnage?"

Don't be angry. Just understand what he understands: that this is political.

"God in school" had nothing to do with this, what-so-ever. A mentally ill person went into a school with some guns and shot 20 kids. How does putting god in schools help a mentally ill person? It doesn't. And I'm not even sure how the hell more gun laws would have stopped this, but it sure would be nice to talk about it, wouldn't it? Hell, I'd be happy to just talk about the state of Mental Health care in this country... You know, it was obviously easier for this guy to steal a couple guns from his mother than it was for him to get mental health care (presumably).

It's called Community health because it effects the Community. You don't want to pay for caring for other peoples illnesses? Because it's awesome when a bunch of physically sick, mentally ill people can't get the help they need and destroy the community from within, like a freshly risen zombie inside a refugee camp. When does it stop being an agenda, and start being the search for a solution? Are we supposed to just sit around, praying and hoping that it doesn't happen again? Seems to be working great so far. Right?

Roger Ebert on the media's behavior while reporting these kinds of events.

Let me tell you a story. The day after Columbine, I was interviewed for the Tom Brokaw news program. The reporter had been assigned a theory and was seeking sound bites to support it. "Wouldn't you say," she asked, "that killings like this are influenced by violent movies?" No, I said, I wouldn't say that. "But what about 'Basketball Diaries'?" she asked. "Doesn't that have a scene of a boy walking into a school with a machine gun?" The obscure 1995 Leonardo Di Caprio movie did indeed have a brief fantasy scene of that nature, I said, but the movie failed at the box office (it grossed only $2.5 million), and it's unlikely the Columbine killers saw it.

The reporter looked disappointed, so I offered her my theory. "Events like this," I said, "if they are influenced by anything, are influenced by news programs like your own. When an unbalanced kid walks into a school and starts shooting, it becomes a major media event. Cable news drops ordinary programming and goes around the clock with it. The story is assigned a logo and a theme song; these two kids were packaged as the Trench Coat Mafia. The message is clear to other disturbed kids around the country: If I shoot up my school, I can be famous. The TV will talk about nothing else but me. Experts will try to figure out what I was thinking. The kids and teachers at school will see they shouldn't have messed with me. I'll go out in a blaze of glory."

In short, I said, events like Columbine are influenced far less by violent movies than by CNN, the NBC Nightly News and all the other news media, who glorify the killers in the guise of "explaining" them. I commended the policy at the Sun-Times, where our editor said the paper would no longer feature school killings on Page 1. The reporter thanked me and turned off the camera. Of course the interview was never used. They found plenty of talking heads to condemn violent movies, and everybody was happy.

Who do you want people to pray to? You dumbass libs hate God,( remember the DNC?) so you can't be praying to him. Is it the shrine of Barry and the socialist flag you want everyone to pray too?

Exactly. The destruction of a community/country from within. That's exactly what Barry and the libs are doing. Its nice to see others are finally picking up on this trend from the left. Good going.

The tragedy that took place in the Connecticut elementary school should come to no surprise. When you throw God out of our school systems, courthouses, and our country, this is what you get. Looking back over the past two years at the public mass shootings, we can clearly see that a demonic evil is now being unleashed across this arrogant nation of ours like no other. For major corruption at our government levels, legalizing gay marriage, pot use, and every kind of vice that destroys a nation from within, The Lord God Jehovah is in the process of bringing this cocky nation of America to her knees. Only by the presence of His Holy Spirit is the remnant of God's people being preserved in these last days. Holy Scripture warns us....watch and pray....for IN THE TWINKLING OF AN EYE......LIKE A THIEF IN THE NIGHT......IN THE HOUR IN WHICH YE THINK NOT ! GOD HIMSELF SAID....IF MY PEOPLE WHICH ARE CALLED BY MY NAME SHALL HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND PRAY, AND SEEK MY FACE, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS...THEN WILL I HEAR FROM HEAVEN, AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SINS, AND WILL HEAL THEIR LAND.

Let me clarify something. No one is denying the sorrow that small Connecticut town as well as our nation, is going through. We all know those lives will be changed forever. But who exactly would you say are the victims?.....those who were murdered, or those countless others who are left behind to mourn the loss? Your reply to my first comment is from one perspective only. What I said is based straight out of Holy Scripture from a perspective of God that no one ever wants to accept. We are all reaping the fruits of the sins of a whole nation who has turned her back on God. Fact!

It was once said that in GERMANY after a bombing raid a woman said IF GOD WAS MERCIFUL HE WOULDNT LET THIS HAPPEN.A MAN REPLIED LEAVE GOD OUT OF THIS MEN MAKE WAR NOT GOD.You say its GODS way of punishing us for turning our backs on him-how old testament of you.You say he allowed 20 children to die tell me how can you justify such a fantasy. You need to rethink that rather bizzare theory for your way off base on that one..
