Are there behind the scenes number manipulations to artificially boost the perceived value of ebay stock to investors? What are some of the behind-the-scenes machinations going on at ebay? What about the legality of 21-day holds on ebay seller's PayPal accounts? What about PayPal itself- money transfer entity or undeclared banking institution? Perhaps it's time for a thorough Senate Committee investigation, televised on CSPAN, CNN, Fox, etc. Thousands of ebay buyers and sellers deserve to know the truth, the American public needs to know the truth. Write, call or email your senator or Representive requesting an investigation into Ebay.

Should have happened a lot sooner. The spectacle would be unbelievably eye-opening.

Big corporations whose stock has split 4 times and who have 24 billion a year in revenue sometimes need the glare of the public spotlight shined upon them. If everything is above board and there's nothing amiss, they have nothing to worry about.

It would be very surprising is ebay DOESN'T HAVE something to hide.

If enough letters from angry sellers who have left ebay pour into Capitol Hill this will happen.

hay could be even more interesting and potentially devastating to ebay corporate would be if former and current ebay employees CAME FORWARD with internal documents on inside numbers manipulations, etc.

Marcus Porcius Cato- Cato the Elder- ended his speeches in the ancient Roman Senate with the phrase "Carthago delenda est" (Carthage must be destroyed!) Perhaps today's cry should be "Ebay must be investigated!"

A look at the level of fear, anger and distrust in the threads on the discussion boards at ebay these days is downright scary. I'm glad I quit dealing with ebay when I did.

Here's an interesting analysis of ebay stock from an online stock trading website: www.wikinvest.com/Ebay_ (EBAY)Bears#reason810

Now that ebay China is on board, thousands of Chinese ebay sellers are flooding the market with cheap, shoddy, mass-produced items made in China, with rock-bottom prices deliberately undercutting American ebay sellers.

How can a corrupt body of government investigate accurately and justly any body, orginazation, or any other branch of government. They spend millions of dollars on the investigation and then the results is inconclusive.

Well, the Department of Justice wasn't afraid to go after ebay on November 16, 2012 in a civil antitrust lawsuit that they filed. It will be very interesting to see how that plays out in court.

Maybe sellers who have had bad experiences with ebay as a result of bad ebay polices should contact investigative reporters at news stations about their experiences. And blog about their experiences as well, of course.

What will really get interesting is when former employees of ebay come forward and start talking, and when current ebay employees begin blowing the whistle.

Well at least it puts a big corporation that has attempted to place itself "above the law" in the public spotlight and under scrutiny. Ebay had revenues last year of 24 billion and their stock has traded in the $49-56 a share range for the past 6 months. In late 2012, ebay amended their user agreement so as to prevent ebay users from joining in class action lawsuits against them. This was done very surreptitiously, with most ebay users not knowing or understanding what was taking place, and the only way out of it was to "opt out".

What I find deeply disturbing is the easy accessibility of sexually explicit adult materials offered up for sale on ebay. Most households have a computer (or several) and kids nowadays are way too computer savvy. This is one area that clearly needs to be looked into a little further.

How about keep an eye on what your kids are looking at. Blaming the Internet for inappropriate material is an excuse for lazy parenting. If your kids are young enough where you need to worry about it, don't let them use the computer. Also, how would they get anything anyway. Better keep them in a bubble just to be safe, to keep them a safe distance from the allure of discount undergarments and mildly erotic umbrellas hand painted in China. In fact I only let my son venture from the safety of his whitewashed room for 45 minute a day. Just enough time for food and sunlight to keep him going. Wouldn't want him getting too "savvy" for his own good.

One part should also be the manipulation of credit scores. Lower score, credit costs you more. Why does Pay-Pal make a report to the credit rating agencies when your credit card goes over limit by $5.00 when they put on their interest charges? Looks like part of mass manipulation of everyones credit rating so the banks could "legitimately" charge you more on a loan.

There was a "purge" of at least 15,000 ebay sellers (mostly small sellers) today at ebay using a new bad policy employing the flawed DSR system. The internal investigation of ebay by outside forces must begin. I urge anyone reading this to call or write or email their Congressman and Senator and request that an investigation into the internal corporate workings of ebay be started as soon as possible.
