School Shooters & Choice of Targets

If you have already made up your mind to go kill somebody, then choose the right targets if you want a name for yourself and true revenge. Go to Washington, DC and invade the Whitehouse or Capital and start taking shots at the politicians. If you kill a few of them you'll go down in history.

Your post is the kind of crap that gives folk reason for pause. School shootings are a real problem and need to be dealt with. The President has ideas, but not one single gun control measure he proposed would have prevented Sandy Hook. Not one. Schools need to bring the paddle back out of hiding and take back contol of the students, parents need to do more parenting, and folks like you need to act educated instead of ranting. Schools need uniformed officers on site, with random inspections and show kids we mean business. It's time to stop worrying about "gun control" which never works, and start being proactive in the schools to PREVENT, then we won't have to REACT.

Threatening the government officials of the United States is a serious crime under federal law. Threatening the President of the United States is a Class D felony under 18 U.S.C.§ 871, punishable by 5 years of imprisonment, that is investigated by the United States Secret Service. Threatening other officials is a Class C or D felony, usually carrying maximum penalties of 5 or 10 years under 18 U.S.C.§ 875, 18 U.S.C.§ 876 and other statutes, that is investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. When national boundaries are transcended by such a threat, it is considered a terrorist threat. When a threat is made against a judge, it can be considered obstruction of justice. Threatening federal officials' family members is also a federal crime; in enacting the law, the Committee on the Judiciary stated that "Clearly it is a proper Federal function to respond to terrorists and other criminals who seek to influence the making of Federal policies and interfere with the administration of justice by attacking close relatives of those entrusted with these tasks."

There are three elements of the offense of making an illegal threat:(i) there must be a transmission in interstate commerce; (ii) there must be a communication containing the threat;(iii) and the threat must be a threat to injure the person of another. Threats can also sometimes be punished under the statutes criminalizing assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain United States Government officers or employees or assassinating, kidnapping, and assaulting the government officials of the United States.

I agree with most of what you said here. That was a good post.

I agree the Sandy Hook shooting would not have been prevented by the ideas Obama is proposing, but we do need some kind of gun control in America. Everything Obama is proposing over 87% of Americans and the majority of NRA members agree with. Shyt, how could anyone be against strengthening back round checks for gun buyers?

Thanks for the encouragement. Most folks could care less about the background checks, because they are already in place for new purchases. The problem is that school shooters and criminals don't buy new weapons, so background checks do not capture the intended target, but encumbers the law abiding citizen. What I really want is for kids to stop desiring to shooting up schools. How can we influence these children so that we meet that goal? 35 years ago every kid in the country had a knife or deer rifle in the truck at school in rural settings. There was no school shootings then, and very little if any gun control, so where is the change?

Why can't this be answered?
