The second amendment did not take into account weapons of mass destruction AR 15s and other military style weapons it didnt prohibit laws that would restrict or outlaw those type of weapons that can be modified a full auto.No one in 1789 ever dreamed weapons we use today and to say that we cant have some sort of regulation is stupid and closeminded-after all we have drivers licenes dont we...

While you speak correctly, the right only speaks to the right to keep and bear arms. There are limitations on every right afforded us by the Constitution and those weapons you mention should be carefully regulated but not necessarily banned or prohibited.

NASA has sub-contracted much of its program under obama and without civilian access to military-grade munitions, rockets, technology, etc, the contractors would not be able to function. And that program would be dead.

Chemical weapons are a different thing and of course should be completely banned. No one argues different.

But the leap liberals are trying to make is far too great. A free society is not free if the government has a say so and control of all weapons. And moreover if it is more powerful than the people.

We already have pretty good gun control laws, but the feds will not or can not enforce them. Law abiding owners should never suffer the consequences of those who choose to break the law.

DC, Chicago, Maryland, Colorado all have tough gun laws. And they have the highest gun related crime! But not by the weapons congress is considering the ban on, but rather shotguns, pistols and small rifles.

The NASA inference speaks to civilians having access to military-grade rockets and other technology, etc. Those things that could have multiple use, i.e., weapons deliverance, satellite propulsion, aircraft propulsion, etc.

No distraction tactic and everything to do with the 2d Amendment.

You think the government should be more powerful than the governed? You'd be foolish to say yes!

To a point true but NASA does not allow certain types of technolgy-rocket motors fuel etc because those can be used as weapons to deliver chemical and biological weapons also nukes and dirty bombs now if you were to use the 2nd amendment to cover all weapons would you allow your neighbor to posses an F-16 AND A CRUISE MISSLE///think about it..

Truism, but F16s are already privately owned. Non weaponized, that is. We could and should ban WMDs from private ownership. I agree with you on that.

Doesn't matter nutsack. We live in a constitutional republic. Your colored friend in the white house swore to uphold the constitution. If you or him don't like it, find another country to live out the remainder of your pathetic lives in.

Hope I didn't offend you.

Americans have a lot of rights concerning firearms that are not covered by the second amendment, that the Constitition makes no mention of. I don't think that the Constition says anything about carrying concealed weapons on your person, how many rounds one can have in a magazine, or for that matter I don't think the Constitution even guarantees the rights to possess ammunition for those weapons. How many automatic weapons people can have to murder innocent persons. I say just make ammunition illegal and than one can use his firearm for a paper weight, or to show his grandson someday a priviledge Americans use to have until American Terrorist began murdering innocent people.
