Can you blame them? I don't, why should those of us who "earn" an income that allows us to live in "better" parts of town, be subject to having to deal with many who have "chosen" to become a burden to society? Many of which do stink, or are unkept. This isn't being mean or intolerant, it's just the truth and sometimes the truth STINKS!

First of all, no need for quotation marks around "earn", unless there's some question as to whether or not you are actually earning your income. Second, yes, God knows that since *you* have completed the near-saintly task of finding and securing a job, you should never have to set eyes upon lesser (re:poor) people again. Third, "chosen" should, in fact, be in quotation marks, because it's crazy. I'm sure that most people really enjoy their poverty and choose to remain so because hey, who needs to eat or have a roof over their head, anyway? Much more fun to eat ketchup sandwiches and panhandle for change. Finally, your assertion that poor people smell bad is, well, gross. You're right, it's not mean or intolerant - it's arrogant, ignorant and condescending.
