There's plenty of law abiding citizens out there that could use a job to take care of their families. Shouldn't they be considered first?

Deflashing sucks

I worked at YUSA as a temp in quality assurance some years ago. They sent me to a neighboring trucking company that ships some parts for them to do this job. It's a huge pain in the ass, boring, messy, and really tears your sinuses up. After the deflashing, we also had to spray paint the parts black. I would have to rinse my sinuses out on a daily basis to get rid of all the bits of rubber and paint that I breathed in. It is a sucky job but, I would do it again before I would be unemployed and I think it's BS that they are giving a job to those worthless SOBs in prison instead of people who have to make sure they have money for housing, electric, water, and food! Hell, sounds like a good job to make the welfare folk do to make up for them draining the tax payers!!!

It looks like a lot of us will have to go to prison just to have a job.

Hate to say it, but it comes down to Americans being lazy. For example, how many of you know people who don't work because they feel they are 'above' the service industry, even though they have no skills or education? America has evolved into a bunch of fat, lawsuit/union happy lazy people who feel they are above almost any job. Of all the real actual hard working people I know, 80% are Mexican or Amish. On the other hand, of all the people I know that talk about how much hard work they do, 100% are lazy Americans. Yeah, I'm sure this is reverse racism or something, but I'm just calling it as I (and most of the world outside the US) see it

*Clarification- I was speaking purely on 'physical' and entry level work.
I know many American's that are hard working at desk/science/education jobs, but not so much on the physical work.

There is nothing to learn in prison. You sleep until you wake-up go to rec. and play come back and sit around and talk shit. Bust a couple of heads from time to time just to let the others know who you are.

With this, the inmates will be able to claim workman's comp and file for unemployment when they are released from prison.

Actually many of those jobs are being done by people from "sheltered workshops". They cause the total elimination of both government employees and regular contractors who might be competing for the same work. It's a neat trick. These "workshops" are able to underbid private contractors because their salaries are subsidized by the tax payers. They can underbid any private business and than make up the money with tax payer dollars. While I appreciate the efforts that are being made in these "sheltered workshops", they should not be competing directly for jobs that eliminate government workers or contracted services.
