retiring to Warwick without a car

My husband and I are researching possible retirement to Warwick, N.Y. My grandfather lived there, owned a chocolate factory there, and my father grew up there. I remember trips my parents took me on to Warwick as a little girl and it seemed like such a beautiful area.
We currently live in Queens, N.Y., don't drive, and are wondering how walkable Warwick Village really is,especially to supermarkets, libraries, drug stores, doctors offices, etc.
A reply would be greatly appreciated.
