I never said, you said ship him off but you did emply that. and yes we are to have "PITY" on the less fortunate the bible says we must and no one ever said you did not "try to love" (your own words) everyone. I wonder what kind of shape you would be in if someone tried to accompany you to onieda or knoxville..........Oh wait theres no need you have a home. and as far as "trying to love everyone" I wonder where we would be if God "tried" to love everyone. So before you judge someone on thier social statues remember God said, "How do you know you've pasted from death to life?" (thats means saved) "Because you love your brother" I have no "high Horse" its just I love (not try to love) my brother regardless of there social statues.
So you show your love for me by calling me names and misconstruing what I said? Only God is perfect love, the rest of us have to try. Sorry you do not understand it that way.

and your message would not have been misconstrude if it didn't sound as if you were anything less than a person who loves others at there own discretion. And yes i do love you even though we do not agree on this issue and probably will never, However I was just simply tring to show you that the way we conduct ourselves and what we write and how we write it reflects not only on ourselves but on God because we (both you and I)both are God fearing people. If I have offended you by anything I have written I apologize, but if the homeless man in question was to read some of the comments placed on here by people claiming to be Loving christians he would most certainly be haert broken and offended

...of course Jesus won't glue Rhinestones to his forehead...they'd clash with his thorn-scars.
This country belonged to the Native Americans.
I hope that homeless man is doing OK in that hell hole called the Morgan County Jail, run by people not smart enough to work cleaning toilets in Hardee's.
When I lived in Wartburg I was disgusted by the hypocrites who went to church on Sunday and on Monday spewed the N word and hate. I once heard a so-called preacher tell a joke so racist and mean I was disgusted.
Those people who find the homeless man an issue should remember Lazarus and the rich man.

Sorry, it was "emplied." I had a friend who was murdered by a homeless man she picked up on the highway. I know others who have been robbed and beaten by vagrants they tried to help. Another friend was harassed by a guy to whom she gave her personal telephone to call if he needed help. All are not angels unaware nor do they act as Jesus would. I firmly believe that anyone who has a cracker should be willing to share it with someone who does not. That does not require that we personally take that cracker to the hungry person until we know that it is a safe thing to do. In Morgan County, there appears to be no social structure to care for unknown homeless people. There have always been homeless people, but family and friends took care of them or they left the area.

My intent was to warn that there are people who can be dangerous on the streets. I did not say this person is dangerous, did not say he should not be helped, did not say he wanted help. It seemed to me to be a role for a church. However, the guys from a local bar could do the same thing. Just offered a safer way to help the person. Did not ask you to question my beliefs, compassion, motives or sense of civic duty. Before you say it, I am not saying you did all of that--I'm just covering all bases. Guess you can practice your way and I can practice mine. Sorry, if the do-gooders of the world choose to look down on more practical people. It's America. Go for it!

. Well said! Thanks! Does anyone really think vagrants are a good thing to have in any town? Remember Elizabeth Smart was kiddnapped by a vagrant couple and a young woman was beaten to death in a Ga park while running by a homeless man. The homless man in question seems harmless but you never know. Just be careful! Sounds like he has a bed and 3 square meals a day for a while.

No... Answer to your post about Muslims. This had nothing to do with that until you made it about that. So let's see why you are concerned about it. It seems like you are a racist profiler... what character you must be...
I made it about the turbin wearing cowards, as the other person suggested for you to do, "READ BACK". I would say you are one of the degenerates that I was speaking about, you want to call someone racist, yet bash someone for being homeless.

Let me think, would I rather be a racist or a neo-nazi turbin loving worthless piece of Morgan Co. cow dunn. I will take the label of standing up for America, thank you very much. I mean after all Tennessee is the State that Morgan Co. is in, and if your family is from there, that would mean your ancestors fought for the Confederate Army.(chin's drop now) So be default you would be a racist as well roflmao..........

Pardon me, but do you have to take the gentleman home in order to help him? Do you have to allow him in your car, house, family, or life? I would say if you help the gentleman in public (that means in the open with people around) you won't get kidnapped.

But remember back in the mid 1990's when the guy walked around as he were Jesus? The cops gave him a home, why don't they do the same for the homeless guy that bother's you fine law obiding citizens so much? Oh then you would cry you have to pay taxes and support him, dang poor fella can't catch a break

This is my last post on this subject, but I must say that being homeless does not mean being penniless. Many homeless people receive one or more monthly checks from the military, social security, "crazy checks", trust funds, whatever Many have substantial bank accounts. Which, if you do not pay for housing, you could have, too.

I have known homeless people who live in tents in state parks or in their cars. Again, by choice as they wanted to spend their money for things other than housing. Not all homeless people need help. But, how many would refuse money or free food? Another reason for a "needs assessment".

Referring again to San Francisco and Seattle--if you build it, they will come. If the community makes it easy, many will choose to live there. Downtown Knoxville is another prime example. Just another item for a planning committee to consider as they think about future needs for taxpayer money.
