I love welfare. It gives me great pleasure knowing that I get to kick back and relax all day knowing most of you get to support me and my hobbies.

I basically get free money while you idiots work your asses off everyday.

I've got 4 kids, and I'm thinking about having another because then I'll get more money. Foodstamps? Yes. Thank you for the free food. I often stuff my face with food, while I'm grinning because it came from your pocket, not mine.

I love welfare because I get to sleep in late everyday, get up and do whatever I wish to do. I have nothing to really worry about.

My housing is paid for, my TV, internet, and many more things. All because of you.

You morons who make it possible for me to live without working is a blessing. I'm thankful that I can buy my cigarettes and beer without worries, all on your dime.

Why on Earth should I go get a job? You idiots pay my bills for me. I think I will "keep on keeping on" while I watch you drive to work each day. It sure is tough staying at home, enjoying my hobbies. Heck, I even get to send the rascals to daycare each morning and not have to deal with them, all while you still pay for it.

I think I'll go and find something to get into this lovely morning while most of you are at work or going to work. Have a nice day!

P.S. Thanks for my cigarettes and cell phone. LMAO!

Oh trust me, I am. While you buy.

Did you know you know I have nice Friday and Saturday night parties on your dime also? LMAO!

Actually was able to get a keg of beer without paying for it. Well... you did, but still....LOL.

Who wants to work when we get benefits like these??!?!?

Welfare really doesn't pay that good. If you think you're living it up on $1000 per month, well that's just pitiful.

Welfare apparently does pay that good. Most of the people living on it have nice cars, phones, go shopping all the time. It's because they get free rent from hud, hundreds of dollars in foodstamps, money on every kid they have, plus child support if they get it, and a lot of them get a disability check when they don't need it. I work every day of my life, I only have one child, and I'm a single parent. I don't make much money and pay for everything myself. It's extremely hard, but the people that actually work and try to have something and do for themselves that try to get some assistance can't get anything. I've tried to get rent assistance from hud, not free rent just some assistance and I was denied, I tried to get some foodstamps and was denied, day care assistance and denied. The people that are actually trying should be the ones the government helps. They would save money because they wouldn't be paying so many peoples full rent, they wouldn't be having to give so much in foodstamps and take most of these lazy women off tenncare and let the ones that work and can't afford insurance or aren't offered insurance have tenncare. The system is so backwards.

That is great to hear you can have parties on my dime, you must have voted for Obama. Or can you legally vote? Maybe you should have more kids, so you can get more food stamps. I bet your mouth and legs are like a revolving door.

Having welfare available doesn't increase welfare fraud. Take a look at Sweden the country with the worlds most social welfare, has very little welfare fraud because its VERY actively prosecuted.

In my opinion the issue isn't whether or not welfare should exist. It should, its our duty to be our brother and sisters keeper. How ever I think we do need to grant the government more power to investigate and prosecute fraud.

That's a great idea except that the problem isn't necessarily fraud. Fraud would be a "single mother" drawing grant money bc she has children under 6, but the daddy really lives there and provides. I don't think this is our BIGGEST problem. Most people drawing grant money really don't work, and they do the required job search (which is a list of places that they apply for work) and then continue to sit on the couch the other four days a week.

Why not use the system to go to school? Get an education? Learn a job skill? It can be done- I went to nursing school with women who did it. I don't mind my tax money being used constructively.....

That'd be a great idea. There should be some way to encourage those people to go to school instead of sit on the couch. Maybe some sort of tax credit or subsidy. 50% off tuition to unemployed single parents or some thing, but only if they graduate.

I know A LOT of women that get welfare and their boyfriend, husband, baby daddy lives in the home, works and makes plenty of money. It makes me mad. So many of them lie and then brag about how many food stamps they get or show off their new outfit they bought with their families first money.

You can turn those people in for fraud. There is a 1-800 number on the tn.gov website. I think you have to search "tenncare fraud," but it all goes to the fraud unit.

I have called on a few of them. But nothing has ever been done. It wouldn't bother me as bad, but there are people that work their asses off and still need help but can't get it. The government needs to help the ones that try to do good. I have figured it all up and in all honesty I would be living better if I quit working and lived off welfare. I'm not like that and would never do that, but I do need some help and can't get it. A lot of the people that do get it sell or trade their foodstamps for pills, use their families first money to go out, to get drunk, and to shop for themselves. The children still aren't fed, don't get things they need and aren't took care of. I'm getting mad writing this stuff. This subject really gets me angry.

Crazy people....You have pride & that's the difference between you & the freeloaders. Someday it will pay off for you. Tomorrow is always brighter when you can look at yourself in the mirror & say I did it on my own. For every disappointment I've had, there's been something better down the road. Hang on to your pride.

Yes, I know. I have 3 children and make $1500/month. My husband makes about the same. After rent/ utilities, groceries, etc ther just isn't much left. If I qualifie for all of those food stamps (like a lot of people) then I would have an extra $600-$700 a month. Also, I pay $400/month (of my $1500) for insurance for all of us. And I have and education!

I would have been better off telling DHS that I am a single mama of 3 and not working at all! Unfortunately, I am like you and these are not the values that I want to instill in my children. I don't want them to grow up expecting a free ride. I want them to work for what they have.

Anyone that you think is abusing the system needs to be turned in. I am a single female that works everyday and struggles to keep my head above water while I see young people that drive better cars than me and have nicer housing (free I might add) get to eat the good stuff and smoke like a train. It's kinda disheartening until I realize that they are freeloaders and I am paying my own way... Turn em in....
