The current store is expanding to supercenter size beginning this summer. Wendys is experiencing difficulties with the DEC over ground contamination issues at their site. Chances are very high that will either bail out or find another site to build. Eckerd Drugs will be building in a vacant lot across from the hospital very soon. This vacant lot is next to the old Garys store. There are at least 3 other large companies looking at building in this same area based on the success or failure of these others.

Just don't let your Town and Village Boards get too involved. The Geneseo Walmart parking maze they insisted on, is the most convoluted mess I've ever seen.

I'll be glad when people just let bussiness do there job, for walmart is the largest and only department store around and we all need that. But the town and village boards just get too involved and just screw things up. It's just this there are to many cheifs and not enough indians, and that is that,so let the people choise not the boards.

You are right, Jim...just take a look at Perry...missed (or chased away) opportunity after opportunity over the decades.
Oh, and at this time in 2010***THREE YEARS LATER***none of these have come to pass.
Another example of government (whether local, county, or state, take your pick) totally out of control.
