2009-2010 Gallatin County Boys Basketball

With their record of 16-4, and with their small stature (“the shortest team” Coach Jones has ever coached), this year's Varsity Wildcats are unstoppable strawberry shortcakes. Last year, the Wildcats ended their season at 50%, and back for Coach Jon Jones are four starters.
To combat the lack of his team's size, Coach Jon Jones' overall strategy is to:
1) Run more.
2) Press more.
3) Shoot more three pointers.
The 2009-2010 Wildcats have a deep bench, 10 deep, and Rhythm, Tempo, and Soul will be crucial for Gallatin. They will also have to work on their free throw average.
The Wildcats are known for their cranked up defensive pressure and they receive a few fouls.
So the Wildcats are aggressive at defense, and they are making very few mistakes. You're great at defense, which Coach Vince Lombardi says wins championships.
But getting one good accidental foul every now and then would be good. Only by testing boundaries is the only way to test the line between what's considered just playing and what's considered fouling.
So you should listen to your cheerleaders: Get more rowdy. How you fight in this basketball game is also indicative of how you will fight in life's journey. Wildcats are known for putting their all out on the floor. They are hungry. They have heart. They dive after loose balls.
I remember doing Kamikazes over and over again in practice just so we'd get used to skinning up our knees, throwing ourselves on the floor, and sacrificing our body just to keep a ball inbounds.
I also recall Ryan Morris missing a layup, ran across the floor, from one end to the other end, catching up to the person who rebounded the layup he missed, and diving after the ball. Ryan was able to steal the ball from the Grant County Brave, and held onto it as his body slid across the floor, underneath the basket, and slamming hard into the mat at the opposite end.
For his display of commitment, heart, and soul, Ryan Morris received a standing ovation from everybody in the auditorium.
In order to succeed, one should take a hard look at theirself, in the mirror, and see what are their strengths and their weaknesses, and then adjust accordingly. Having that knowledge of self-awareness will pay dividends on the court.
I fully expect Gallatin County to win the 8th Region Class A tournament, but their real challenge for the State of Kentucky is Shelby County. They always win, everything. Their school is bigger, so they get a larger pool to choose from. Next year, Shelby County will split into two schools next year when Martha Layne Collins High School opens, but for now, The Shelby County Rockets are the clear-cut favorite to win the 8th Region.
Other teams who might be competition, according to the Courier-Journal: 1) Anderson County; 2) North Oldham; 3) Owen County; 4) South Oldham, and; 5) Gallatin County.
Coach Jon Jones is in his sixteenth year as a head coach; all at Gallatin County. Only Glen Drury of Anderson County has been coaching at his 8th Region school longer.

I already respect myself as a citizen and person, folks just need to realize this. Suggest things like this for me to do, because I'm just flying blind, with a ton of name-calling a/sholes getting on my case about anything and everything... when I've never done anything to any of them!
Well, thanks for liking my work. I will keep doing them.
