Dont get me wrong Barry alexander is great at what he does. If there is anyone I would want to be at my side if I was hurt it would sure be him. I just think he let's his son influence him a little to much. If people look back in time little Barry is always making his father look bad. Now this!! What's next is the question?? I think the Alexander's needs to answer for this. Really need to apologize to those poor kids that got their heart broken by him. If you support Walton Verona so much maybe you should go to work there. Also what is actually going on in the squad and fire department. I have heard several people has quite due to the way it is ran. We need all the good emt and firefighters we can get.

I am outraged by the mistruth printed in todayís paper. I myself saw with my own eyes the event that happened on November 4th before the football game.

On the way to the football field at about 11:30AM my family and I saw a Gallatin County Fire Truck parked at the 42/127 river overlook. The fire truck had a large WEBN sticker in the window on the driverís side. We dropped off concession supplies at the field and decided to go to breakfast at the truck stop at the top of 127. As we headed back up 42 the fire truck was still there. It was about 12:00PM. We turned right off of 42 onto 127 and headed up the hill to see a Gallatin County Squad, lights flashing, traveling slowly. We pulled off the road because we could see a long line of cars behind it. At first we thought it was some sort of funeral procession because everyone had there emergency flashers on. We quickly realized that all of the cars were painted up to support the Walton-Verona Bearcats.

I am outraged that the paper states that the Fire Department was just ďat the field to assist with traffic controlĒ and was not offering escort to our rival team. If that were the case, how is it that all of the Bearcat fans were following them from the top of 127 where my family and I saw them?

I cannot believe that you are trying to convince this community that what we saw was simply a figment of our imagination. I have received many calls from fellow community members who witnessed exactly what I did.

Great response !! It's my understanding that is the lie that Barry told Mcfarland. Who asked the FD for traffic control ? I can't ever remember them doing this in the past ... Ummm another lie by Barry .. Mcfarland won't do anything with him. He suspended him a month ago with pay ... So Barry goes to Florida using the county gas card... McFarland isn't smart enough to check where that card gets used.... Hmmm ... Their again Mcfarland won't do anything with him. Guess Barry pulls a lot of votes... McFarland do your own investigation, then do your damn job !!!

Suspended with pay, where can I get that option?

There is absolutley no way anything will ever happen to Barry Jr., I think I believe that Sr. did not know about this, but he is the ultimatley responsible for the actions of his "Officers", for what it means to be an officer at a volunteer department. Little Barry is out of control and has been for years. He tells everyone he is a medic, and leads people to believe he is in charge of the EMS department. I am pretty sure that he an issue that would prevent him from being a paramedic.

The opposing team was the Walton Verona Bearcats, Barry Alexander's grandson plays for them. He gladly volunteered the use of our emergency equipment to escort them from their feed in Walton to Warsaw. Some of the home players were caught behind the mess and were completely discouraged and didn't understand why our community did this. It wasn't a great way for them to start their Super Bowl game.
Walton did ask their fire district to conduct the escort, but they declined because they felt it was too disrespectful. So, leave it to Mr. Alexander! I also feel that Waton better be picking up the tab for this.
If their grand kids are too good to go to Gallatin them they are too good for our emergency services to escort them. Why does the county officials put up with this, everyone ie replaceable. That is our tax money they are using for personal services

Why don't you guys try to going to a fiscal court meeting and expressing your displeasure. That will hit them the hardest the judge always tries to make the meetings go fast and with no conflict so it appears the county is running as a well oiled machine. When truth is 90% of the closed sessions are about the Alexander's or something the Gallatin fire/ems has done and how they are going to sweep it under the rug and protect them. Let it out and force their hands at taking action. Don't get me wrong McFarland is better than French ever was. The Alexander's were on a complete out of control rampage as was French so we got the lesser of two evils. However McFarland talked a big game and has been a major disappointment as what he said he was going to do. Now is a good time to tell him put up or shut up. You'll lose a whole bunch of votes if you don't get rid of the A team. The Alexander's voted for French and had everybody the could to vote for him as we'll so I don't know why McFarland is so afraid to do what's best for the county and move them on down the road. Oh by the way fiscal court meeting is tonight at 1830. Show up if you want some answers.

From my understanding they gave big Barry the papers to fire him today and he has not done it yet. I also heard that big Barry is pissed and said he was going to retire. I think that is the judges job to fire him. That's gas to be hard on big Barry to fire his son!!

I will believe it when I see it. As "GoodLuck" says, Cub will do whatever he wants to do regardless of the Judge. He has such a big ego he will convince himself that he is untouchable!I heard that Daddy Bear had a family emergency this morning and had to leave work, wonder what that was?

I'm pretty sure that Big Berry has made a few misjudgments in the past and just as sure everyone commenting on here has as well, but your not being publicly humiliated here today. The Alexander's have worked hard for this county over the years as volunteers and its pathetic to see that forgotten over something such as gas for a fire truck. I personally saw Berry save a girls life one night and I will continue to respect him for that and the emergency service he provides, if I am ever in a life threatening situation I hope to God he's there to help me, my family, and or one of YOU. So, send him a damn bill for the gas and move on. Also I'm sorry if the kids showed disappointment on there faces......But I sincerely hope that is the most disappointment they ever have to endure in there lives.

They're good people. Papa Alexander once told me the humanities is what he lives for. Maybe being less arrogant wouldn't hurt. Either way, use the civic tools in place to get what you want.

He lied to you 2 then. Humanities my ass! He lives for the power, ego trip, and oh to skim off the top. He's been getting rich off the residents of this county for years with his crooked ass underhanded ways. Just like the 35000 dollars that came up missing a few years ago. Swept right under the rug.

My understanding is that the judges office, news paper and fire dept. have been flooded with outrageous calls today and letters have been pouring in. This isn't the first, second or even third time Mr. Alexander has abused his power. The county is supposed to be calling a meeting regarding this, stating this was what finally broke that camels back. I mean God forbid, but what if a call had gone out during this? He was using 2 fire trucks and a squad for this. You know this isn't going to be cheap on the community! It either needs to come out of Mr. Alexander's pocket or Walton's.
It shouldn't come out of Walton's. This is just an example of Barry, Jr. flaunting his "power and influence." This is nothing new.
