I would like to say on the subject of elections,that our county has one man running for office that should not be replaced, that man is Nelson Brown,he is the best sheriff our county has ever had.He runs a very good dept.always is way under budget,takes very good care of business,and is very nice to everyone he deals with as long as they don't cross him.He has years of experience and that is vital to this job,especially in a county that is growing as rapidly as this one.Job well done Nelson and good luck in the election.

Word is he is only going to work 2 more years and retire. That is all he needs to reach full retirement.

we need a sheriff for all of the people. not just for the old click. the county is growing . we need a sheriff for all the county not just the one/s you like. you said it all about the don/t cross him. give me someone that is the same with all the people. as far as the best ever. you see thing/s i don/t. some of the past sheriff were very good to all the people in the county./

My term don't cross him means He's the Sheriff,why would anyone want to cross him? I know Nelson well and he will do the right thing with everyone.As far as the old click goes ,the facts here are that Nelson is his own man and I don't even know who is in the old click that you speak of.I do respect your opinion and I guess that is why we are both on here exchanging what we both consider to be valued opinions. I seen where Josh Neal has filed to run against Nelson. I think Josh would make an excellent Sheriff for Gallatin County.

We have talked since then and everything seems cool with us however, people tell me all the time that he still says that I was in the wrong. Anyway that is in the passed. I did hear he was going to run, then retire in the middle of his term and give the sheriff position to Brent McDonald or Brent Caldwell. I guess time will tell.

I like Josh Neal also, and Ronnie Smith.
Officials tell me that Josh was almost fired because Brent Caldwell put porn on Josh's computer to set him up and so Josh quit and became a Florence KY police officer.

Ronnie has a far different outlook on being sheriff than any of the others running so this election should be pretty interesting.

I think that Josh Neale left the department due to lack of raises and other department issues. I think that he would make a great sheriff for the county!

I agree he has always treated people with respect and equally. He has worked for Florence for awhile now and knows how a police dept. should function and how it can function effectivly.

josh has become a people person in the last few year/s. he know/s how to get along with older people and young. that is important to be a good sheriff.//also know how to do the job.hire good deputy/s / not some because they are no threat to your job,//

So he was not satisfied being a deputy sheriff in Gallatin co. he went to the city and got a job, now he decides he wants to be sheriff in the county where he didn't want to be deputy sheriff and is going to bring city law to the country ,naw it'll never work for Josh or the county.remember this, he was a deputy once in our county ,didn't like it ,went to Campbellsburg to be a police officier,didn't like it ,came back to be a deputy here again,didn't like it ,went to Florence ,didn't like it,NOW wants to be Gallatin county's sheriff ,naw won't work.

Mr. Cain, I seen on your site that you will be interviewing all of the candidates for sheriff (Gcvideonews.com on the message board.)
You should ask them if they have read and understand the constition. I know that you know because I have seen your videos but the sheriff is suppose to protect it. Do all of the candidates know that? I don't want a sheriff that is just a nice guy, I want a sheriff who knows everyones rights and will protect them!!

Clueless...you are just that CLUELESS!!! Just because Josh went somewhere else to work and better himself does not mean that he wouldn't make a good Sheriff here in Gallatin County. Josh is a good hardworking family man and he would make a wonderful Sheriff. Knowing that he has all this experience behind him makes me feel he can get the job done. Josh has mine and my families vote. Naw...don't think you know what you are talkin about!!!!

I'm not a pot head but I will vote for Ronnie Smith. I have talked with him and he is a very smart person who does take our rights into consideration. I don't like Nelson and the way it is ran now. I don't know Josh. I can tell you that Ronnie is a real up front guy. I want my rights and I don't want the next sheriff to sign the paper stating that he will fallow government athority. That is NOT what the sheriff is suppose to do. The Sheriff is the peoples law offical not the governments.
