If this is true then that is sad. She went into their home and stole from them when they trusted her. I'm sorry but anyone who does this deserves divine retribution. What goes around comes around and she will eventually be repaid for it. There should be a police report on it whether or not it's available I can't say. Since the local reports aren't online it would take someone to ask to see it. It's all public record and the home would have to have filed a report.

Of course that's what I'm talking about. That is their home. The fact is that there is not a facility around that encourages residents to keep cash or valuables in their rooms for just this reason. But it's a shame when someone takes advantage of them.

Right now for whatever reason the nursing home is covering it up. dont know if they or the family plans to file charges. The person in question was a long time employee of the home.

I'm sorry but whoever it is needs to charged. It doesn't matter who it is. Anytime a staff member or a visitor takes advantage of the resident it needs to prosecuted. Any position in healthcare teaches you to protect your patient's and yourself by not accepting gifts and gratuities. The main concern is that if the person is confused you will be setting yourself up for theft. If this person took things with or without the patient's okay it is wrong. All items need to be reported to the DON who decides whether or not it is appropriate. Most DON's place the items into a fund for all staff to share but not always. You have to protect yourself as well as the patient.

I think you can take your question to other forums on the web to get a different take on your questions"mystery citizen" . But always remember to have "fact" and "valid evidence" before making it personal Sometimes a not so personal take on a issue helps...I find it odd that people don't do that much...I have two gentlemen one from the NYTimes and one from the Huffington post that are friends of mine on a personal level..I am no way have anything to do with the journalism industry... I just so happen to be a girl that was in the right place at the right time in my life to be exposed to these people that were drawn to my view about the world as wacky as it gets sometimes and my kindness that gets me in messes:):):) I never have discussed any of the issues here with them because alot of these are embarrassing and are only of concern to folks here and they would think i turned into a nut totally ....But i also know that alot of people do not take Topix as serious because there is a lot of craziness here...I bounce around on here to understand this place better.....sometimes people only think they know their neighbors :)

the person was the office manager i heard she stole up to 35,000 and i dont understand why the nursing home is covering this up. she should be punished for this. she is no better than anyone else. its sad that you steal from the elderly. if i had family out there i would make sure she got punished......

i will take this up on my own and have this place investagated.my parent lives in a home, and if this would happen to my parent when the smoke lifts the ground they would think world war 3 was there.it makes me mad to think not one empoly hasnt said a word.they are just as guilty for standing by and not saying anything.when older people say something right a way people think they are crazy and not in their right mind.will sorry i will take this to the right office and have something done.i am not letting people steal from these dying sick people who give up a lot of there life savings and personal thing to be in these places.so who ever the person is that took you will be turned in.i am contacting one of the ky. state offices that deal with senior heath care. your day is coming!

Well from what is going around the county the employees there have been told not to talk to her.
So if she has stolen that much i'm sure the FBI is involved and I'm sure they are going back thru all books she keep from the time she started to see when she started or how she took the money out;. But you are right she needs to be held accountable for her actions. I do not see how someone could do that to the elderly specially there. They are there living the rest of their life outthere and someone taking from them.

Really.... Are you people so stupid to believe that the nursing home is trying to cover this incident up? The nursing home isn't covering anything up! This person hasn't been formally charged yet, because there has to be enough evidence gathered and presented to the prosecution before said person can be charged. This person worked for the facility for 15 yrs, 15 yrs worth of books that has to be gone over with a fine tooth comb! This goes way beyond the healthcare, this is federal! It is medicare fraud! It has been reported and it is being dealt with by local and state authorities! All computers and documents have been seized, the healthcare is cooperating like they should be. No one is trying to cover up anything illegal, it just hasn't came out yet, but like I said when enough evidence is brought forth, people will know what has happened!

I think it is time for the county to know what is going on. If the employees are not allowed to talk about it then it is a cover up. Why would you tell your employees not to talk about it, that does not make any sense to me at all. She has moved out of the county all ready, so to me that says she is guilty. Sounds and looks like to me she is running away. If i know this county like i think i do there will be nothing done about it. The only way anything will be done is if the FBI gets into it and from i been told they dont want anything to do with it. That may wrong but that is what is going around town...How would you feel if it was a member of your family that she did this to? I would be pissed as hell...

seems like the gallatin health care is sure covering this up. its time to bring her to justice. if i had a family member out there and this was done to them i can tell you that everyone in this county would know about it and i would not stop until something was done with her. this is wrong in so many ways. i dont understand why the administrator is not pressing charges on her, i would think she should be worried about her job also if she is trying to cover it up. but this is gallatin county lets cover things up and maybe it will go away....!!!! thats the moto of this county anymore...
