Where is it ok for a police officer to drive the police car, that the county is paying for, to his second job? At a time when we are paying extremely high taxes and budgets are being cut. We have a police car not being used to protect our community but used to drive to work at the pawn shop and to drive home. I resent this way the taxpayers money is being spent! I would like to know who to report this to outside of Gallatin county to see that this is stopped?

The police station is on 42. He leaves his own car at home. He isn't even a real policeman. During the day he parks it at the court house and then he drives it to the pawn shop for his second job and parks there. A huge waste of tax payer money if you ask me. I don't care if it is 2 feet to the second job. This isn't the way tax payers want their money spent!!!

im so over ppl complaining about the stupidest things. how much gas is he really using driving 30 ft? and r u forgetting policemen pay taxes too! if u want to complain about something how bout start with the fact that the city pays 300000 on all the damn firetrucks that we dont even need. this county will never be big enough for 8 firetrucks. so next time u want to complain about ur "taxpaying" issues please look at the bigger picture, there r so many other ways your tax money is being wasted than a man driving around the corner to work. seems to me its a personal issue.

You can take care of your property without the cops. It's called the "Castle Law". That covers your house, property, and vehicles.

So they drive the car to work, then go to a second job and then go home? Doesn't make sense to drive the car home and then pick up their car to drive right back to the same place. Why don't you complain about something that is real? Driving a couple of blocks isn't worth the effort to complain about it.

I like the fact that police cars are parked in neighborhoods which helps deter crime rather than all of them being at the police station, also if there is a serious call near him he can respond from home

He drives it on the weekend to the pawn shop to work. This is after he has went home. Still think it is OK? He uses it as his personal car. This isn't right!

And seriously, only 1 or 2 people in this whole county give two shits about this guy using the car to drive to his other job.

I find it hard to believe that no one in this county cares how their tax money is being wasted. Driving a police car to a job that is a second job. Not a job hired by the city or county! And it is ok to use our tax money to pay for his personal use of the vehicle and the gas from our pockets. What give him the right to spend my hard earned money like this. I don't care what this guy Alexander says. It isn't how the tax money is suppose to be spent! It is wrong no matter how you try and say it doesn't matter. IT Does!!!

You people bitch about a little gas !! Ha !! If your truly a tax payer then you should know the damn school is getting 67 percent of all our tax money. Start your bitching in the school board meeting. The sheriff gets 4 percent of all taxes. Very minimal to protect 9200 hundred people in this county. Don't you think ???

No, it just doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Look, let's just say the "hard earned" money for this issue came out of my paycheck. I say, I'm fine with it. If it were up to me, the cops would have the ability to drive these cars all over Creation at all hours of the day. The more police presence in this drug infested town, the better. These guys are willing to take a bullet to protect you. It's not like the guy has it parked outside a casino picking up hookers.

well said! lets start showing a little appreciation to these men and their families instead of bitching about a 30ft drive to a 2nd job! and agreed, the more cops driving around, whether on duty or not the safer our town is! all of u bitching r prob associated with drugs im sure and hold a grudge to these men. they r good people and as for me and my family, we r completely fine with what they do, if they would take a bullet for me they can drive their cars anywhere they want! thanks officers for all that u do for our community.. bless u!
