Didn't warn workers? What, have they been living under a rock? Monaco filed for bankruptcy and basically said if they didn't get financing or find a buyer in short order they would have to close. Have the workers not seen other RV makers fold...did they not know about the thousands of Monaco workers already laid off? Come on, take the blinders off or get your heads out of the sand.

Sounds like Monaco Coach Corp is in violation of the WARN Act of 1989. In short, the law states that ANY employer that has over 100 employees on the payroll are required to give a 60 day notice to its employees, regardless of the consequences of staying in business.

It doesn't matter, Monaco got away with violating the law, and now that the state has allowed them to get away with it, all the other business's in the state know they can get away with it as well. The purpose of the law was originally to keep the jobs and companies in the state. Since companies are leaving the state in droves, this just makes it easier on them to leave and dump their employees as they run for the borders. Since our governor doesn't seem to be bothered by any of this, he must have planned it that way.
Sheer Genius

Hey, we can fix this! Everybody go get $150,000 out of their savings and buy a RV. Then we can raise the gas tax to $5 a gallon. That way we will be employing workers that produce extremely expensive products and the state will be flush with cash. Simple! I should be the Governor!

Joe, you have some sense, unlike a lot of American workers today. Too many unions and too many clueless people voting for people promising more government and unions.
