There are many offerings out there to solve the fax line problems as well.
One option would be to terminate the fax lines into the same Houston datacenter, and use RightFax or some other centralized fax server system. Another would be to use a "remote PBX" system. Incoming fax calls are "switched" to a physical line. If another physical line must be used, the PBX can be reconfigured in minutes. |

I am going to guess the application that is running in Houston is a SaaS solution and they do not own the Houston facility.
The best bet for quick transfer of an important fax line is to make it a toll-free number. Then you can call the carrier and have it termintated anywhere with one phone call. I am assuming this why their main number was so easy to reroute. |
