And one other thing, Warrense: in over thirty-five years of driving this is the only ticket I have ever received. In fact, it is the first time I have ever been pulled over by an officer.
If my experience with this guy is any indication, then he is writing quite a few undeserved tickets.
I guess it really says what kind of cop he is when he has given tickets to ambulance drivers on emergency runs.
Even his fellow officers and the judge was so disgusted with him for that tactic they all told him to knock it off.

Warren Police Stop Sign Tickets...SCAM?

I've driven the route in question for 25 years and have never received a ticket. I've seen the officer sitting there and elsewhere. Guess I must stop at the stop sign like the law says.
And Kevin, you don't know as much as you think, some of us know much more. |

Joe: What route would that be? Nobody indicated any particular route. In fact most of the people who were written up by Kanapsky were in neighborhoods. So therefore there is NO ROUTE IN QUESTION. Channel 7 just used that intersection as a background for their story.
I doubt you know a thing about this story. How many court dates have you sat in on Joe? None? Likely. I, on the other hand have listened and talked to many of the people who were signed up on the Kanapsky retirement plan. This story has just now begun to unravel for Officer Kanapsky. |

Kevin:
Nice spin but it doesn't hold water. I know much much more than you ever will. Give it up and get out in the real world. |

All is well and good, when we can collectively bring abuse from local police and the courts to light. though true they, in theory, will take a bullet for us and thus get a pass, their leap to therefor we own you is a bit out of touch. I`ve seen and followed the, shaved head steroid 80`s and 90`s cops come and go....Ego thing...But now it is what it all is in this society...cash-ola...peroid. The lawsuits they brought through the years nearly bankrupt Warren..Kept quite now, at all cost. I`ve witness the cop in question several times over the years...He is many of many, not all, who has ego altering effects when strapping on his side-arm. Instant bully..to young old and in between. I sat and watch him, during a seat belt sting..With 8 other partners no less patrol and bikes combined...when constr. on ryan was down to two lanes complete with loaders and bull dozers for back drop, pull over an old lady...I mean old....In all the confused setting he scream at her till he turned red red...the poor thing was so confused she froze...he then motion to kick her car till she pull over right in front og the loader...It was a spectacle.... Could only laugh in dis believe...I dare him to deny it...The cylcle cops are an embarrassment to warren... always have been...Keep up the good fight!

On april 4th i was pulled over on my residential street by a officer mott. this same thing happened to me i stopped at the stop sign and proceeded and was quickly pulled over.
I have had very few tickets in my almost 35yrs of driving. I was accused of ignoring the stop sign which was not the case but a lie. I would have rather been robbed out of 125.00 by a thief than a warren police officer pretending to uphold the law. Its disgusting that the city of warren allows this type of behavior. |

I grew up with a lot of cops. They are the most dishonest, law breaking guys I know. They are fun to party with, they keep us from going to jail.
Drinking and driving is just a fun game they play all the time. sad but true. Guys if you read this you know i like you. You just need to clean up your act. |

Since this whole thread started, it's really peaked my interest and I've started paying extremelt close attantion on how people approach Stop signs and if they will come to a complete stop.
I based a "complete stop" on a couple things 1. The vehicle did not pass the sign before stopping 2. The vehicle came to a complete stop. This means the vehicles tires completely stopped moving. 3. The vehicle tires remained stationary for at least 1 second. I watched the stop signs outside my office window during lunch, plus my driving around the Warren Area and you know what I found.... Thats right based on the 3 criteria I set forth, 99% of drivers do not stop at stop signs. If I eliminated the 3rd requirement, it appears that 95% of drivers do not stop at stop signs. Probally 25% of the drivers I watched completely blew the stop sign. SO I'm wondering do YOU stop at stop signs or just think you do? |
|
|
if you see a cop hanging by a stop sign, the thing that I do is not only come to a complete stop but I shut off the engine, rotate the tires and change the oil. I usually back traffic up for a good 5 miles or so, depending on how fast I work.

Yo Kevin. All your ranting went real far didn't it. Nexttime, take the bus |

I stop at most stop signs. There are a few that I ignore (parking lots) I always yeild but seldom stop completely in desolate areas. I really beleive that people in one big hurry usually find a way to avoid this. I see them cut through a shopping center (speeding) just to save themselves 30-40 seconds in a right turn lane. I also see stop sign violators in my neighborhood. Its scary when they blow right through the sign like it was not there. I think most people don't even give it a second thought when they yeild for a stop sign because they are used to doing just that. I avoid the area of the officer in question and like I said before, that can't be a good thing for the businesses in the area. Glad you did your homework! |

What a rip-off

Well, here we are, whine, complain, moan. It's time we took control of situations like this. I don't mean violently either. Lord knows, there's enough of that in the world right now. We vote. Is that not enough? Apparently not. The same worthless bought and paid for idiots are being elected and allowing this country to go down the drain. We either take control of the situation by removing the elected officials who are not doing our bidding and replacing them with people who really have integrity and really care about US or we go on whining. Based on what I've seen so far we will continue to elect these as8888es and take the abuse. Go ahead..... make my day and prove me wrong. I won't hold my breath. Press 1 for yes.

Heather Catallo will be exposing a follow-up to this fiasco tonight on Channel 7.
By the way, if you are in Roseville, Officer Stephen Starr may be up to the same racket. 'Just Thinking' above is correct - the right way to deal with this is not to fear government, after all we are the people who make the government. Write to your State Representatives, contact your State Senators, speak to your City Council members and complain to your Mayor. Of course, there is always WXYZ, WDIV, Fox 2, Detroit News and the Free Press as well. |
|

Nice to know the Warren Police have so much regard for going through stop signs and in front
of the 37th court.Channel 7 showed on video how many police cars drove through stop signs. The deputy commisioner didn't seem so concerned he said it was a minor issue and he would address the issue with his friends in the department.Whats next drinking on the job. |
|
|
This investigative report from Channel 7 is enough to tell those above who tried so hard to defend the greedy corrupt cops in Metro Detroit to JUST SHUT UP ONCE AND FOR ALL.
There are many good cops in our community, but Kanapsky of Warren and Starr of Roseville give police officers and the law enforcement brotherhood a bad name. Everybody in this community should continue contacting their leaders and representatives to put an immediate stop to such loopholes. It is time to 'clean house' and send these bad cops to the unemployment line. |

Judged:
1 stop sign tickets what is he going to do retire or file a grivence against the the city.We do need traffic enforcement in the city not someone writing tickets for running stop signs. |
|
|
I think the policy is complete B*****t.
Stop sign enforement is traffic enforcement. Commissioner Dwyer said the main objective of traffic officers is to prevent injury accidents, not issue tickets. Isn't a person who runs a stop sign creating the potential of an injury accident? Isn't officer writing a ticket to a stop sign offender preventing an injury accident? By the way Commissioner Dwyer, it is not an accident, it is a collision...an accident occurs where there is no blame, if someone is involved in an automobile collision, there was at least one party who cause the collision, therefore blame can be assigned. You people wanted Fouts as mayor...hope you idiots like what you got....... everything he fought while he was council president (taxes and water rate hikes) are now going into effect since he was elected...it was a scam and we are getting screwed! |
