I have Lived my whole life in warren, some 47 years, Never in my entire life have I seen someone like Jim Fouts undermine so many projects in warren,, he should not be elected Mayor,, He undermined the Free GM property on mound road many years ago to where the city had a chance to receive all this property for free,, Fouts fought and won a blocked effort by city officials to build/develop on the property back then, today we would not have the New City hall,, The Community Center, the new development on Mound road, and many other improvements made in the city if Fouts had his way,, I'm Sorry Fouts,, but ask not what can the city of Warren can do for you,, but what you can do to help the city.. Instead of concentrating on keeping the city’s residents separated,, you should invite them to the new community center,, the new city hall, lets unite the city's residents, not try & pit the southern residents of the city against the northern residents. We need to build,, maintain/add to our population, this will in turn generate the funds & the means to better serve all our residents,, not just a few select residents you so chose for your own grand standing & political gain.
Vote to Move forward,, Vote for progress,, Vote for Sulaka Mayor,,!!!!

I'm total agreement, I've never see a more qualified individual thawt should play the part of Scrooge in a Christmas Carol. Residents of Waren that arae for continued progress this is the Golden Opportunity to "OUST FOUTS" I'm sick of the embarassment of Council meeting that run way past midnight. sometimes til 5:00am, this is an extreme example of inefficiency. He's working busy not busy working.

Is everything "on film" real, or can it be skewed to fit the goals of the one who is publicizing it?

Lets give Mayor Fouts a chance to skrew up the
city more than it is.I have a feeling that we
will be asked for a tax increase to pay for
every thing he has told he will bring back and
blame it on Steenbergh.I compare Fouts to the
late Ron Bonkowski, except Fouts doesn't have a
clue about the city fiances.I must admit that
I was not pleased with the way the city was being
run over the past 4 years and have had to deal
with some very rude and unprofessional city
employees. In fairness to Steenbergh he left the
city with over 24 million in cash reserves and
he helped me several times with issues that where
not being resolved by the Warren Police.I feel that within 6 months Warren will back to it's old
self and the Mayor and council will be going at
each other.

Trust me there will be no back pocket stufing going on with Fouts. He is taking on this job with a stand up professional march with no scams to inflate his wallet. He is for the people.

Fouts has done it again. The parks department designed a playground for McGrath Park and took bids for the equipment it wanted.
Fouts did not like one part of the playground ( suddenly he's an expert on parks and playgrounds,)
and struck that part from the council agenda. As a result the Park will have only half of the equipment the designers wanted and the park will not be functional. Our mayor has decided he's an expert on everything and the kids will pay for it.

I have no doubt that are taxes will be raised.
Jim is realizing that he can't promise everything
he has to write the checks now instead of mouthing
off at council meetings.

Fouts built his career on bashing the 2 previous mayors to get attention. Holding Council meetings until all hours of the night to grand stand. He always opposed GM and now that it's popular to be backing the auto industry he decided to get on the band wagon, creating a lot of hype and fuss to promote himself. I think now that he's in there he sees the true complexity of budget issues. It's funny how things change when you're walking in the same shoes. Does anyone know how much of the 24 million has been spent?

Speaking of parks, Fouts wants to put yet another park less than a half mile north of McGrath Park at the old Ridgewood site. That's 5 or 6 acres of land owned by the taxpayers of Warren Woods School District and Fouts wants them to just give it all away to the city for a park. He wants a government bailout but somehow has the cash to build a park on land that doesn't belong to the city in the first place?

DRH, what do you suppose should be done with the Ridgewood property? I live in the neighborhood and the Warren schools have it gated off with a bent up, ghetto looking fence with a chain and padlock. It has looked horrible for three years now. For the past twenty years, it was not a source of income for the schools. Why can't they continue the low cost lease for more years and have a park? By the way, Warren wahts 1 park for every square mile. This is one of a few square miles without one. Kids here have to cross major streets to get to another. Nobody wants to buy it for houses. That market won't be any good for a while now. So the citezens are asking the schools and the city to make this work. It can be done if people work together.

Fouts told the main building inspector to tell other inspectors in the city to ticket all houses South of 10 Mile. The certificate of occupancies generated $ 350,000.00 last year for the city in permits. Fouts instructed building inspectors to red tag any house that does not look lived in. The southern end of the city people just don't have the money to fix up their house at the moment. Its one thing to have a clean yard, but to tag a house just for the hell of it is wrong. Tagging houses is illegal, just ask the ousted judge in Macomb township who worked for the city and said tagging house is illegal. What gives the right for a city offical to walk into someones yard to inspect without show cause. Jim Fouts is trying to generate money any way he can from stealing Federal and State money to issuing tickets and issuing tickets on the South end ripped down. Ask any city inspector and they will convey off record what is happening. Warren has problems like many other afflicted communities, but Fouts better clean up his act before he finds himself in a grand jury and gets sent to jail.

Give me a break! If Fouts wasn't doing anything, I bet you'd be complaining about that too. At least Fouts is trying to clean up Warren.
