I hear that they are going to have concerts at Waconah park. But that all that money will leave town because we gave away the rights to use our park some hot shot friend of a local politician. Local taxpayers get nothing out of it. Taxpayers are paying to fix up the park but others will be reaping the rewards. Thanks again mayor.

Move to Pittsfield so that your tax dollars can fund investments for the rich folks business's.

Financially you may be right, but numbers are not people. It still becomes harder and harder for the average joe to get a mortgage. Houses are starting to move alright, and average joe will be moving into them paying rent to the landlord."
Spoken just like a resident of the state that keeps sending Barney Frank back to Congress to do things like pass the Community Reinvestment Act and start sub-prime lending, prop up banks that will never make it with taxpayer dollars and, now, tell GM which distribution centers to keep open. Nice move. You get what you asked for.
If that were the case then Barney Frank never would have been elected, sub prime lending would never have happened, those dam bailouts would never have occurred, an GM would have gone bankrupt. That is what I would have asked for. Still doesn't change the fact that every day people are feeling a lot more of the pinch are losing their retirements, pensions, seeing their credit go down in flames, their taxes go up, and their jobs disappear. Small businesses are folding daily and the government is taking over the marketplace. I wouldn't buy a GM vehicle now if they paid me, and my family has been buying GM products for almost 80 years. In fact, I probably think a lot more like you than you think. Wrong assumptions on your part wiz.

It's not the "locals" boosting the housing market. Berkshire County is a great place to move to if you have a little extra $$$. Retirees and the affluent from NY & Boston buy a second home. They're talking about the revitalization of North Street....Condo's count!
