He's not allowed to collect the winnings, as per the rules/laws set in place. These are rules he knew about, or should have known about, when he purchased the ticket. He attempted to circumvent the rules/laws, and he got burned. Lesson learned.
Even if he wins the case, he still wouldn't be eligible to receive the money.

just saw on the news, he won the case, and it is legal for a illegal to buy a lotto ticket, he was awarded even more from the crooked boss that claimed it was his.
