My heart goes out to the family. We don't know when or how our lives will end but we know that it is important that we be ready. As long as we have breathe in our body we have an opportunity to make Jesus our Lord and Savior. Acknowledge your sin and you need a Savior. Believe Jesus is the Son of God. Confess your sins to him and you will be saved. Jesus loves us so much and it is His will that we be saved.
