Just another big company with millions of dollars and nothing to lose from this showing how they can be real buttheads! They are just mad because they didn't think of it first. LOL

As the Bard wrote, "First thing we do, let's k*ll all the lawyers."

[This was edited to pass muster with the Topix censor, who apparently hates Shakespeare.]

Protecting copyrights, trademarks, etc. can be difficult to understand.

Legally, Warner Brothers HAS to protect their rights over the song. Otherwise, they risk losing any rights to the material in other instances.

It isn't feasible for companies to selectively enforce their rights. If Chatham didn't have permission to use the song, and they didn't protect the copyright, then they could lose legal standing in other cases where they might want to enforce the copyright.(In other words, if they didn't take action in Chatham's case, but took someone else to court over infringement, an effective defense could be that Warner Bros released their rights by not claiming them in Chatman's case even though they knew about it.)

Also, keep in mind that although Chatman didn't make any money on this video, YouTube does (via the ad space they sell on their pages).

Anyway, you can still here it here, but I don't know for how long:
