Councilman Wells is touting this simply as a way to line his own pocket - very self serving! Trying to get this past on the grounds of attracting "2 chain restaurants" is pure BS, no major chain restaurants will come to Murphy in at least the near future simply because there is no population base nor income base to justify them spending multi-millions of dollars to open here - this is a FACT! Large chain restaurants (Chilis/Ruby Tuesday/Red Lobster/etc. have business plans in place that state population figure, etc. which they use to help decide where to put their restaurants.
