The bench gang sits around complaining about socialism while snacking on money from their disability & unemployment benefits. The gang votes for republikan legislators , who then vote to end their disability & unemployment benefits , tax their grandpa's social security ,medicine and doctor visits. But the legislators vote that death penalties based on race is now OK and the gang approves of that , so they give the legislators a pass. NC republikans are a strange breed indeed.

Now, NC republikans in Raleigh are trying to put a state tax on grandpa's social security . That is in addition to putting more sales tax on groceries, medicine, doctor visits, car repairs, hair cuts and everything else that people actually need to buy. Don't believe me, check it out for yourself.
You made the claim, back it up. It's not a matter of belief, it because you can't spell.

I get so much conflicting information about the affordable health care law that I am still unsure about its effect on me personally. I already have insurance which is expensive but pays when I have a problem. All indications so far show that my premiums will be increasing. I don't know how much at this time.
The republican noise machine seems to agree that the act will add another trillion dollars to the national debt over the next 10 years. The democrat noise machine seems to feel that it actually lowers medical costs overall for the government. I have never actually witnessed medical costs declining, so I am skeptical of the democrats claim. The republican claim seems reasonable in terms of numbers. The question that baffles me is why republikans are so upset about adding one trillion dollars to the national debt over 10 years when just last week they quietly and with no qualms added one trillion dollars to the national debt IN ONE DAY with a massive give away to cane, beet and dairy mega agro-business.

as per your comment medical cost are indeed rising.our country is in a lot of trouble.the farm bill was indeed defeated.expect 2014 to be a time of great change for America.only a negative vote on the immigration bill can forestall a Republican victory in 2014.the long-term prospects for Obama care do not appear to be good.

Thanks Robert. You are right, I am behind. Interesting article.
172 republikans voted to give them the money. 62 republicans voted against the massive give away. 24 dems voted for the massive give away. 177 democrats voted against the give away. Old Nancy did vote against it, so at least I can give her credit for that bit of wisdom. So now, temporarily, the USA will not have to borrow 940 billion dollars to give to the mega agro-business. What is curious it that the republikans are constantly screaming about US debt and government spending , but are constantly voting to give away money, in this case,$940 billion dollars (0.940 trillion dollars) or 5.8% of the total US debt . what is wrong with that picture?

It looks like the cost of medical care, medicine and insurance are spiraling upward together just as they have been doing for years. Since I already had good insurance, probably the new insurance law will cost me money, at least that is what my insurance person is telling me and I have no reason to doubt her. I just still do not know how much it will cost. The uncertainty is my main objection to the implementation of the new insurance. I still think preventing the insurance companies from cancelling people because they get sick is a good idea.

I would eliminate ALL subsidies if it were within my power to do so. Subsidies are the opposite of free enterprise. The reason I buy insurance ,on the other hand, is to be part of a self sustaining cooperative which would cover large expense on my part in the event of a serious accident, injury, sickness etc. Allowing insurance companies to cancel someone out as soon as they get sick is fraudulent. That defeats the very purpose of insurance. I oppose fraud as well as subsidies.. I trust insurance companies and their agents like I trust rattlesnakes under my truck seat. Both need close supervision and constant defanging.

TSF hardly no one knows what's going on with Obama Care. Except, companies will be keeping employees under 30 hours so they won't have to pay for their healthcare. And healthcare is likely going to go up. Creating a nation of part time workers.

A farm bill covers a broad spectrum of the "mega agro-business". A farm bill impacts jobs, immigration, imports, exports etc. The "agro-business" as you call it, is probably the largest industry we have LEFT in this country. I know a trucker that takes yogurt containers out west and brings back produce. Did you read the bill? It's H.B. 1947 give it a try.

A trillion dollar give away affects our national debt in a trillion ways.. It also allows mega argo-business to hand taxpayers the bill for their mistakes, misjudgment and outright fraud. It allows consumers to pay artificially high prices for agricultural products like food. I remember the amusement of my farmer grand parents at the Federal Land Bank of yesteryear (part of the farm subsidy program) paying us by the acre NOT to plant crops. We were not mega -agro by any means with only hundreds of acres but came out about the same as if we had really worked the land. Those corporate farmers with millions of acres in that program became even more wealthy for doing nothing. It would be just peachy if everyone in the USA could be paid for doing nothing.
Republikans bitch about the 0.890 trillion dollar cost of social programs to the poor and then fall all over themselves attempting to give away A TRILLION DOLLARS TO AGRO-BUSINESS ON TOP OF THE 1.3 TRILLION DOLLAR THEY ARE GIVING OTHER CORPORATIONS. Lets see, giving 890 billion dollars to the poor is socialism but giving 2,300 billion dollars to corporations is not? I say cut it all out.

Just a heads up to all you working republikans who want the ear of your NC governor McCorey. You can join the Renew North Carolina Foundation (a non profit) for only $25,000 per year for the low end membership or $50,000 per year for the better membership. You will then get the privilege of joining the governor for dinner at only $1000 . If you want to attend both days of his special "non profit" retreat, it will cost you an additional $10,000. they really are not expecting a large representation from working republikans so you might want to join and attend this gala event.

If you are implying that NC budget negotiations purposefully coincide with this "retreat", you are one seriously suspicious individual. To imply that the North Carolina public budget will be decided behind closed doors is just shocking, shocking. I am sure there will be factory workers , teachers, cops and small business owners seated at the same tables as the out of state internet gambling representatives, big business and lawyers. They all have the same opportunity to pay their $50,000 +$10,000 and be represented in the budget process. You must be some kind of socialist, left wing commie outside agitator or cleric. We have already arrested hundreds of you kind in Raleigh for being in the way and interfering with lobbyist delivering their "contributions " to the state legislators and governor.
