dogs barking

I find it deplorable that someone would call the cops because their dog barks for the 15 MINUTES ( or a little longer at times) the dog is let outside to take care of business. The people that are doing this seem to have a vendetta against us because one of the adults happens to work for one of the utility companies. Long story behind this one.
Since I have moved here I have found maybe 3 people in my neighborhood who are nice.
What happened to community spirit????? Does anyone even care???? What about going to neighbor and stating the problem instead of calling the police and animal control????? How would that person feel about their animals being called about or the parties????
I would move but with the economy and I am buying my home I will not and cannot move!!!!

I have a neighbor whos dog barks non stop from the moment they let it out till they let it back in. Worse yet, her dog pen is outside mine and my childrens windows, and have had countless quiet weekend mornings interupted by this annoying little piece of crap. If you have a dog that barks, and you want to get along with your neighbors, then respect their right to a peacefull environment in their own homes, and find a way to curb the barking.

Hi Devils Advocate, I am sorry to hear you live next door to someone whose dog barks all the time.... Have you spoken to them about the barking? It could make a difference.
I stated in my post the dog barks maybe 15 minutes or a little longer especially if there are rabbits around. I have done by best to be considerate and respectful to my neighbors. I sometimes hear their dogs barking but I do understand dogs bark sometimes. The only way I can see to "curb" my dogs short bursts of barking is to 1. have its vocal cords cut...2. get rid of said dog.....3. kill it.....4. dump it somewhere.... all of the above list I find deplorable an unacceptable.

An anti bark collar works great! It vibrates when they bark & they stop. They eventually learn to stop barking even without the collar.

I have to use one because my neighbors dogs bark constantly and my dogs want to join in.
