To categorize Democrats and Republicans as either left or right depends on the era and the issue. The Kennedys' and Johnson's involvement with the civil rights movement followed with Nixon's promotion of states' rights created a polar shift across the parties, drastically changing left to right - especially in the south.
Democrat president Jackson launched the "Trail of Tears", which caused Representative Crockett to leave Washington in disgust. Lincoln would not recognize today's Republican party. 4 of the 5 investigative committees on "un- american activities" were primarily headed by Democrats, including the two that spanned from 1938 to 1975.......( my interruption (do not know how to go out of the italics mode, sorry: The reason that investigative committees on un-American activities were headed by Democrats was that the Democrats controlled Congress during many of those years, and all committees were headed by Democrats. That is no big deal. The ones who headed committees got there by seniority, being elected time and again from the same state or district, and most of those were the mostly rightwing and racist Southerners. Again no big deal. This was a result of structure and practices of Congress, not choice by the Democratic party. In l974 after the post-Watergate off-year election, in their pre-Congressional session meeting, the Democratic caucus, with many many new members, threw out many committee chairmen and subcommitee chairmen who had positions based on seniority, and elected more progressive people. They made a few mistakes - by throwing out a couple of OK Southerners, and not throwing out all the bad ones. Also, when LBJ signed the civil rights act he knew he was taking most southern states out of the democratic electoral vote column for many years to come, yet he fought for that legislation because he believed in it. also - the trend of good people leaving the GOP for Democrats, and vice versa, began partly with FDR and Eleanor, and continued with Truman's integration policy in parts of the military, and the victory of the pro-civil rights forces led by Hubert Humphrey at the l948 Democratic national convention.).... back to original comment.
33 states had some sort of eugenics laws, and victims are estimated to be somewhere around 60,000. This was made possible not by leftists and socialists, but by decades of broad public support and by legislation from both parties.
The purpose of the twenty second amendment is not tailored to "socialist" presidents, and was not intended to be - its origins are back with the founding fathers.
Sorry, I do not know how to do the wonderful thing of going from regular print to italics and back again. it sounds complicated when folks explain it to me. You are generally correct and I just wanted to give more details. Sorry they are inside the italics section, but clearly indicated in the parens.

Sadly there are groups of Satanist who are completely off of their rockers, no common sense at all. A group called "joy of Satan" led by a con artist believes that Jewish people are alien lizards (like the movie V) and the Gods and Godesses are extra terrestrial beings bound in prisons by these lizards and only the leader of JOS "Maxine" has the magic to free them.....about as nutty as peanut butter
Dude you serve the devil and call others nutty?... You got balls I'll give ya that!

We talk mostly politics, but I bring religion into the conversation a lot. Come add some spice to the mix.
The liberals have been talking a lot about gay marriage, as amendment one was just passed in NC.
Things were getting boring here and repetitive. That is now happening there now. I will check in on this thread to see if things are getting fresh.
Thanks for missing me.
Well, its not you we miss, its your comments ;)

"christians" are only christians when it is convenient or serves their purpose (like elevating them above others) but when it comes down to it they know the bible is a con so they can just pick and choose what suits them at the moment......

You have the cart before the horse, there. Henry the 8th didn't like that Rome was telling him he was stuck without an heir, so he flipped the Pope the bird (kings that tried to do that before got their butts whooped by the Pope's appointed emporer - which was whoever had the biggest army at the moment) and started the Church of England so that he could be top dog.

<quoted text> You have a right, as you know, to believe or not o believe whatever you want. I am just curious and in no way trying to make you believe or not to believe in anything. When something tragic happens in my life I pray to God. When something tragic happens in your life how do you handle it? Just curious on what your beliefs are and the different ways people handle tragedy & grief.
Was not posted to me but I will give an answer. When something happens "tragic" in my life I deal with it, instead of blaming it on satan and hiding behind gods skirt.

Membership is by invitation or referral only. My small Satanic church only has about 800 members but our parent church, the Satanic church of SWFL has over 100,000 members.
We find the cults that killed animals for ritual blood sacrifice (the Jewish people) to be evil.
We see all life, even a christian, to be sacred.
We are not pacifist
What else would you like to know?
