Kasich, if you believe in what you say, Why haven't you put a Freeze on Your Pay? If unwilling to Freeze your Pay, How about Cutting it? How about Leading by Example? Your exact words were, and I quote, Ohio needs a Shake up at Every Level. Another thought, since Ohio needs Money, What sense does it Make to reside in a house ( that Ohioans are paying Security on) while there is a Mansion in Bexley where Ohioans are paying Taxes on? Action speaks Loude than Words!

Here is the real problem with America! DEBT on top of DEBT! From the citizens' homes to the local, state and federal gov't. We are all responsible for this downfall of the US. It's coming soon. check out this video to learn the TRUTH! It can happen to America, just like 9/11/2001 happened. We are not immortal as a nation!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch ...

The dollar is collapsing and there are more signs each and every day. The price of everything has increased year after year because we just keep printing money to cover our debts. Why? Because the dollar is the "reserve currency" of the world. We can just print more money to pay for things we can't afford. Not for long. It's only been the reserve currency since the 70's and it is worth less everyday. Once the dollar is no longer the reserve currency, the value will plummet leaving today's dollar equal to about 50 cents or even less. Then everything costs even more. Many people are left with nothing, standing in line for rations of food. I can picture it now. Mass chaos in the streets. Don't think this is not possible. Look at your history books.

That's why we need this bill to go through. We can't keep piling up debt just because everyone feels they are entitled to their "benefits". Everyone is going to suffer through this crisis. I am a union employee and believe me, I don't want my pay cut. But my children's future is in my hands. Our sacrifice now will benefit them in 30 years. Big changes are coming with next year's budgets. Hard choices need to be made. Say goodbye the old American way of life and realize it's time to become responsible (That goes for all citizens and political parties). It's not about me, it's about my children's future. My job now is to make it so they can have a future.

It would save nothing on security if Kasich moved into the mansion. There would be security there too. The cost of heating and cooling the mansion is higher. Also, you would still hate him if he took a pay freeze. He hired a venture capitalist to work for Ohio for a $1.00 a year.

Ive seen this same ploy before. How quickly u all forget. Remember? Wall Street? House morgages all went under? Car companies? These so called private sector CEO's are the same CEO's that Kasichs been workn with for years. He made millions when Wall Street crashed, mortgages foreclosed on people climbing 8 percent in 6 months..Obama bailed them out n guess what? These CEO's took there bonuses,,leaving Americans holdn the bag...Once again, he has laid the groundwork of attackn the middle class to instill fear n uncertainty in Ohio . He hires these CEO's who with him, took millions in bonuses as people lost everything they had. Remember Ohio? Here we go...now he doesnt care about the deficeit..just lining these CEO's with money from u guessed it...us, our education dollars, and who will pay again? Yes...it will be us again...Its like a bad B movie....WAKE UP...

Before the governor hurts the middle class even more, he should announce pay cuts at the top, beginning with his own. He is a publc employee. Why should we continue to cover his inflated salary/benefits package when he's working to cut ours even more? Demonstrate your commitment to cutting the budget by working with less yourself. Govern by example.

Let's not forget the $60,000 per member on the Casino Commission for a PART TIME job. Hello, isn't that a little bit extravagant? Don't think Jo Ann Davidson needs another $60,000 job. Besides, she's already getting a great government pension and now she can double dip. Another item the republicans and kasich are faulting the unions with. Talk about hypocrisy.

If he moved into the mansion you would only have security there not both.So now we are paying to heat and the electric for both places.Lead by example he should take a pay cut. I don't belive the 1.00 a year deal either.

from the comments I have read about this article
everyone needs to remember ONE key item about
this whole situation???? It takes PRIVATE SECTOR
JOBS and the TAX BASE those jobs provide to
SUPPORT the PUBLIC Sector workers. Without the
TAX BASE from those jobs, cut backs and higher
Public Sector worker contributions is necessary.
I wish I would have been given this option prior
to being laidoff from my previous warehouse job
that paid $14 hr, I am now making $8.15 hr and
back living in an apartment after loosing my house
to foreclosure.

I also have one other question that I would like
the supporters of Former Governor Strickland to
answer if they can???? How would Former Governor
Ted Strickland solve the $8 Billion budget hole
that happened under his watch?? I am not bashing
Strickland, just wondering if anyone knows how he
would solve it??

Hello teach, you also need to remember as far as
the home mortgages are concerned.....it was the
Federal Government that allowed Fannie Mae and
Freddie Mac buying up almost 50% of the mortgages
in the USA and then selling them off to brokerage
firms on Wall Street to make more money.......So
while I agree Wall Street played a part in the
Sub Prime Mortgage Meltdown the Federal Government
played a major part in it as well.....Just ask
Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd, Chuck Schumer
and other key Democrats.
