Anyone go to the 8th street clinic? Just wondering if it's a good place to go for medical services. I dont have insurance and I need affordable visits. I do need some kind of couseling and medication monitoring. Think they can help? A friend of mine told me it's a pretty good place but that one of the Councelors there just blows you off...I am in need of health care...and someone to talk to like a couselor. Do they offer that there? Any suggestions? I need someone that will listen and take me seriously. Some place that can get my meds straightened out; Any input would be appreciated.

I went to the dental clinic as well as a couple family members and had no issues. It's a little hard to get in as they are so busy but the service and the people were great.

I will never go back nor take my dog to see these people! They are over priced and lie......... They took my daughter back to get her front tooth caped and came out with a 200.00 bill and never received the job they said they would do. Come to find out they don't even cap teeth. I was informed by a staff member of this. They never came out to talk to my husband or ask if they could do extra services that were not requested. I called the same day of the unrequested serveces and they never called me back. About 30 days later I called them. They do not care about you nor your family! If you are in need of a Councelor I would try a local Church.Sometimes they will help you for free or help with the cost. As far as teeth O.S.U. branch has a great clinic. And they only charge 20.00 for a cleaning and 10.00 for any time of x-rays. The students do a great job and they care about your teeth getting done right. Save your time and money DO NOT GO!Call around for prices and do your homework becasue this place is a joke. I have went as far as setting up a meeting with the C.E.O. and they refused to as of yet. Still leaving messages to set up the meeting to get this problem taken care of.
If the Church listed above is not able to help you try Cross Roads, they are a very helping and loving Church. Good Luck! I hope your able to get the help you need.

I did speak to the C.E.O. and she was very nice and took care of the problem. I guess sometimes you just have to talk to the right person.

My adult daughter goes there because she has no insurance. She works part time, and she lives with us. Her payment used to be like $6.00 but now they charge her $105 per visit because they figure in our income. We certainly are not wealthy, and she is responsible for all her own expenses. They told her if she would move out with unrelated people or have a child she would get a big reduction.

I think there is a misconception about this health care center. They are not a clinic. They do not so things for free and they are not a walk in service. They provide primary care. Which means you have to have all your medical records transferred from your last doctor to them. They offer a discounted rate on all their services including medication for those with no insurance. They are certainitly much cheaper than a regular doctors office and go out of their way to help their patients however they can. They offer many services including Dental, Chiropractor, Medical, Pediatric, Pharmacy, Behavioral Health, and Community Resources such as help finding services you need and help applying for assistance. You might say they are a one stop shop. I'm pretty sure you can't find that anywhere else. Although they may not be able to give you the couseling services you need the doctor can prescribe medication if needed and their behavioral health can refer you to a couselor. Don't knock it till you try it.. I think they are great!!! Their pediatric department always takes very good care of my children and has went above and beyond to ensure they are seen as soon as possible when they are sick.

I agree with Justsaying. I have been going there since I lost my job over a year ago, and with it my insurance. I understand the frustration of Mom of 3, but it is income based, and they include EVERYONE in the household's income. For my husband and I it's really cheap. It is a little hard to get in there, and I just love the staff. They know what they are doing, and their primary concern seems to be for the patient. AND if you can't pay yur bill up front, they will bill you, and you just make payments. They don't even tell you how much to pay, just as long as you are paying something. And if you have a balance, they will still see you. I loved our family physician, but it was like $80.00 just for a regular office visit. I am also Type II diabetic, and they have helped me get my insulin for free with a program that they have. I love them, and have referred several of my family and friends there, ad they are all satisfied. Will they make mistakes? Of course they will, but I haven't seen a doctor yet who hasn't. That's whay they call it "practicing medicine". And please keep in mind, they are human, and they see several patients a day, and some not so nice. I for one am very thankful for them.
