Kiss the grocery store goodbye once it opens, is what I think. (The art supply store we had closed because of Walmart, as it is, I asked the owner myself and that is what she said.) Independence used to have a Dillons, but doesn't anymore. I think another Super Walmart so close to Independence is a bad idea, and that this region won't be able to maintain it. Plus, I have noticed that while the Super Walmart in Independence has more items, it has *less* selection for those items than a regular Walmart. In general, I think a Super Walmart is a *BAD* idea, not the least of which being because as someone else pointed out they are building in the middle of the Vergris' flood plain.

Further, them putting another Super Walmart so close to Independence could make the Independence one also fail. It is supported by people from this town going there to shop after the Walmart here has closed for the night. Once there is one here, they won't. The people from Independence won't come here to shop. I don't think it is a good idea. I don't think I'll be proven wrong too. =(

Personally, I hate to go shopping at wal-mart. However, with the economy the way that it is, people should sit back and think about the fact that if walmart werent here there would be a lot more people standing in the unemployment line.

No tire service, The last time I went there to get a walmart tire fixed it took 5 hours and then they said the warranty wouldnt cover it. you can go to one of the local tire stores and have it fixed and be on your way in less than 30 minutes.

Most Walmarts have TERRIBLE customer service! In Chanute it takes at least 2 hours to get your oil changed. NO they are not that busy ! I avoid walmart like the plague. I shop at the dollar stores as much as possible. We lost a grocery store because of the super walmart.

I am a Coffeyville native.

I agree! Got tired of getting of getting ripped off at WM or waiting or hours just so they could tell me they couldn't get to it that day or couldn't help me at all so finally went to Dollar Tire, haven't been ripped off once. Always got a got deal and great service, friendly guys that take time to explain things to you and show you what they are talking about. I also like that they don't just do me any "favors" then charge me for them and tell me how they "had" to do it after the fact when I get the bill.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Leo

There's an erratic quality to the day, thanks to the Full Moon in emotional Cancer, combined with a lunar eclipse. Loved ones are likely to behave in ways you hadn't counted on. The only way to cope with this is to be as flexible as possible. Someone might change an arrangement at the eleventh hour so you have to think on your feet, or others may be determined to do their own thing even though it doesn't suit you. Get any arguments out of the way quickly so you can enjoy your New Year's Eve celebrations with a glad heart.
