Maybe Governor Dayton will see into this ethanol scam and eliminate this huge waste of money.

Gee what's next? how about we let people use EBT (food stamp) cards to buy e-85? I mean why not, we are dumb enough to use food products for a poor performing fuel,, why not allow poor performing people to buy it for free? Just a thought.

The American Lung Association Minnesota recieves a residual of every gallon of ethanol sold.

Maybe If we fuel up at holiday we can get a free lung inspection from the anti smoking benifactors of ethanol The ALAMN, ADM,Jerry Orr of the ALAMN,the minnesota Corn growers Assn. Rep Davids, Skip Humphrey, that has his law education fully funded by ADM, and so many others.

ETHANOL..the illigetimate child of taxpayers forever, even though the child is now 24 years old.

Archie, leave it to you to tell me even more than I already know about a total waste of time and money. Thanks for adding to the reasons I despise this ethanol religion, or not just ethanol but it is a part of an entire movement taking us in a very scary direction.

We taxpayers should get together and put our illigetimate child 24 year old " Little Ethanol " up for adoption. Maybe Hugo Chavez is looking to up grade his ethanol family.

I used to be a wise guy about ethanol. being a mechanic I saw it as job security, no shortage of cars with issues running this non-fuel. Then I started seeing the negative undertones on our economy and the step on the ladder of the progressive agenda it provided.
On the surface it is a welfare program for farmers, but good Lord, it goes much deeper.

I was the chief mechanic at a state facility when it was forced on us, Every thing in our inventory was naturally aspirated, we had 80 hand mowers and power eqipment with contenential engines,!980 Fords with VV Carbs that hated ethanol,we bought loads of fuel filters, added motor oil to chain saw gas, Then to top it off we had a new 21,000.00 Toro groundmaster with a small industrial ford enging that burned three exhaust systems off in 100 hours of use. Toro took it back and disassempled it then brought it back with no explanation, In the meantime I tested our gas for ethanol and found it had 35% ethanol.
That ethanol dog and pony show cost taxpayers so much in engine damage and un susable equipment that can not run w/o leaded gasoline.
Then here comes Ethanol benifactor Ford motorsd with our new Taurus's FFV vehicles, A 2 gallon larger gas tank and a CAFE standard on the window
The E-85 add on 1150.00 The cost to operate on formulated gasoline 1190.00 per year on unformulated gasoline 750.00 a year. The state department of agriculture presented us with A "ethanol answer man" that would splain to us un willing customers now being forced to use ethanol at gunpoint because it is good for the air. and corn growers, subsudies and political activists.
It was embarassing wasting so much of the peoples money and property. But Ethanol politics run the show.

Reading your posts is always an education, thank you Archie.
I had to chuckle when you mentioned the Ford VV carb! I did diaphrams and such on them over the years, the most common problem, but converted many to the standard Motorcraft 2 bbls for customers fed up with fixing them.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane, in an odd way I miss working on the cars back in the 80's. I still am active, some modern stuff, some street rod and muscle car stuff, but retro fitting and fixing factory screwups in that era was fun.
Remember the Chrysler "lean burn"? lol

If you could synchronize a ford 2700 V V carb I hand it to you. This is hard on my ego but I sent them out, You are a good "wrencher".

Remember how all of the carb rebuilt parts dis appeared from the shelves so fast? and how much a new carb cost, like overnight?

I learned so much on that job every day, Many of the young Computer savvy wrenchers taught me so much. Nice talking about this, been retired for a decade already. Ethanol was a shock to us, Now my neighbor hood kid runs e-85 in his 460 hot rod and likes it.

I have run methanol in race cars, and still do. E85 is being used as well. But this is under racing conditions. A shirt of good gas to get it going, then a ton of timing and compression with low operating temps make it good race fuel, lousy for mamas mini van though....
Archie, drop me a line off the board, would love to kick some things over with you,
